How Selected: I am an old resident from that area and was going to be there during this past summer.
Competitors: This is a small hospital in a small community and should not be doing WLS. Hospital is severely short staffed and not trained to meet the needs of the patient.
Comments: WLS is rising so fast in this small area and the hospital and staff are not properly equipped and trained for the special needs of this kind of patient. The physicians that perform WLS are too busy now to spend much time with the patient. Very disappointed. Awful experience.

How Selected: It is located in my hometown. It is also the hospital where my surgeon practices. Very convenient to my family and friends.
Competitors: For a small town in Northern Wisconsin, We have the finest, most up-to-date facility to be found. The services provided rivals most similar sized facilities in larger cities.
Comments: My stay was on the 3rd floor, and overall I found the nursing staff, and CNA's to be responsive, caring, and truly concerned with my well being. They are very professional, yet they never forget that you are a person, with real feelings. I never felt like I was being treated like a number.

How Selected: This is where my primary care physician recommended I go for my surgery. It is only 30 minutes from my home and the commute was closer than the 45 to one hour drive to the next hospital that does this type of surgery.
Competitors: The hospital is very nice and compares about the same as others in this area.
Comments: My Hospital stay was wonderful. I was in a total of 4 days. The nursing staff was completely dedicated to my care. They answered any questions I had. They anticipated my needs as well as assisted with keeping my pain under control. They never rushed my cares in any way. They treated me with respect and genuine care.

How Selected: This was the hospital my surgeon works at. It is also close to where I live which was an important thing to me
Competitors: The hospital was fine it was the nursing staff I had a problem with. Very rude and not there when I needed them. Was left alone most of the time, and took care of most of my needs myself.
Comments: The hospital staff on the whole was fine, but I think they need to train the nurses on how to take care of bariatric patients.
