| I have always liked Huntington Hospital - it has a great reputation in my community. |

Very professional staff. I liked the surgical group (Pasadena Laparoscopic Surgeons) better at Huntington. They work as a team and patient care is on top of their list. I didn't see this in the other group in the area. |

Responsiveness to pain management while in the recovery room was terrible, but once I was in my own room I couldn't have asked for better care. All of the staff I saw post-recovery room were top notch. |

| It was my doctors recommendation since he only works with this hospital and his Center of Excellence care. |

Much more attentive staff, clean and never felt like I was just left alone and no one would come check on me. The staff was coming in every two hours and anytime one of the IV alarms would ring the nurses would be there in an instant. If I ever rang the button for a nurse, one would be there within one to two minutes. Impressive. |

I feel like if I ever needed to be hospitalized for any reason, I would prefer to be in this hospitals care over any other hospital I have ever been in. |

| It was the hospital where I first attend the Bariatric Symposium and it is where my Dr. practiced. |

Most hospitals are not prepared to handle Bariatric patients. Huntington memorial has a complete wing for them. |

Everyone worked as a team. When you press the "nurse" button, someone was there at your bedside within a minute.
One comment: I wish the hospital staff would not wear fragrances. They actually made me sick. |

I have been a patient at several other hospitals & my family have been patients at many others. Huntington by far surpasses every other hospital I have ever experienced. |

I can not think of one negative thing to say about this hospital. Every single person I encountered from the admitting clerk to the valet, to the nurses, lab techs & docs seem genuinely happy to work there. Never a stern tone, shortness, etc. that you often find at hospitals. They have nice private rooms, listen to their patients needs & even let my family visit me long after visiting hours were over. TOP NOTCH! Don't ever want to go anywhere else. |

| I selected this hospital based on the fact that I have had family members stay there in the past and been very impressed. From there, I found Dr. Lourie's office and was further impressed by their numbers and expertise. |

Unfortunately, there were four nurses who were just horrible. They really ruined by stay. However, my doctor and the rest of the nursing staff were excellent and could not help enough. The pain medication was only the first day when I had to repeatedly tell three nurses that the pain clicker was not working. It was only when my doctor came in that it was changed. I will always think of him as my angel. The toliet was handicapped and, since I am short, it was difficult for me to use it. Finally one of the nurse aids brought me a step stool (old) and things went better. Also when the wheel chair man came to get me, he said that he hoped I fit in the chair. By the way, I fit in a normal wheel chair. I don't know why he said that. After I sat down, he said that I did fit. He also wanted me to hold my overnight case and sleep apnea machine. My daughter said she would take it. The final thing was on my first day, the volunteer person came in and spoke to me about the hosptial. I told him that instead of donating blood to the Red Cross I will start donating blood directly to the hospital but it would take about sixe months. Two hours later, he came back to talk to me about a money donation. He tought I said money, not blood. The wheel chart the IV was on could not be rolled. I kept saying that one of the wheels were locked or something. After the second day in the hopsital, my daughter asked for a different cart. I immediately was able to push it and boy did I walk then. |

The facilities and staff and Huntington were all top notch. You want to go there and not have to worry about anything but your surgery and recovery. The entire admin staff was friendly and efficient. I could not have asked for more. |

| My insurance company and doctor picked the hospital |

Poor - I had no monitors in my room that were connected to the nurse's station. I was having some breathing problems and this was not reassuring. Also, they were supposed to have my CPAP machine for me in recovery and did not. It was in the room I was to be sent to. When I got to my room my daughter had to insist that they use the CPAP because my breathing was ragged. |

| I was looking for a hospital that did LOTS of bariatric procedures. I wanted a good staff in the event there may be problems. I chose my surgeon based on the recommendation of my own Primary Care Physician who said to have this procedure at a facility, by a surgeon who does this a lot. The results of my researching pointed to Huntington. |

I work in a very good hospital as a medical professional, but we do not do the bariatric surgeries. I knew exactly what I was looking for as far as good standards for hospitals. Huntington is one of the best. |

The care is tops. It is a beautiful facility. I noticed that some of the Lab and Xray areas were well used. Equipment looked well used. Some areas could use a paint job, etc. Patient service is excellent. The room accomodations were excellent. Very big and roomy. All of the staff were excellent and very professional. I notice things like hand washing, gloves, etc. They were top notch. I would recommend this facility without reservation. |

Huntington Memorial is much nicer than the hospitals in my area. It is approx. 60 miles and 1 1/2 hours from my home. |

The nurses made my stay very
comfortable. I was so pleased with the way I was cared for, I would go back there if I have to be hospitalized again. I would highly recommend Huntington Memorial Hospital.

| My surgeon's surgical group operates out of this hospital. However they also operate out of other area hospitals. I elected to stay with this hospital because of recommendations from several friends and family members |

This hospital stands EONS ahead of any other hospital I have ever been in, as far as outstanding service to patients, cleanliness, security, ambiance, safety, and creature comforts. I would travel hundreds of miles again to have other procedures done here! |

The nursing staff here is the best I have ever seen anywhere! Their care for the comfort of their patients is TOPS! These people could go around the country teaching other hospitals how to do it! Cleanliness standards, comfortable furnishings, in a 5 star like resort setting. WOW you have done this one right! |

Fantastic! Bellflower is old and they don't have anything private. Long Beach Memorial has curtains separating the patients when they are waiting for surgery and it is so much bigger and nosier. |

I checked into the hospital and within no time I was waiting in my own private waiting room with my sons. It was very calming. I loved the waterful, it was very peaceful. The other hospitals (Bellflower and Long Beach Memorial) had just one big room and we waited behind curtains for our surgery. Very noisy and high anxiety. Bellflower didn't even separate us with curtains ;-) In no time I was in the private surgery room and there were video taping the whole thing. So professional! Steve the assistant and the Anestheiologist were laughing and making me very comfortable. I later woke up in my private room ;-). I was in some pain and then they showed me a pump that I just had to press to get pain relief. That was very nice. They believe in zero pain. ;-) I had relatively no pain at all! My gallbladder surgery (Bellflower) was so much worse than this surgery. Dr Powell came in frequently and checked up on me. He and his team also visited my sons in the waiting room and calmed them down. Teenage boys can become very excited and anxious when they are worried. My sons said they even made them laugh! The nurses and assistants were so fantastic! My wounds are so much smaller than the stitches for my gallbladder surgery (2/5/04 - Bellflower) and they didn't use those huge metal stitches that would get caught on my clothes and infected. This experience was very positive! |

| I think this is an excellent hospital and i recommend it to anyone. I know many people that have done their surgeries here also and they also have been pleased. Everyone was attentive and helpful and i felt totally comfortable. |

i have not been in alot of hospitals. The only ones i really have been in were St. Francis Med Center in Lywood, Ca. Ant this one. I must prefered this one. Just their additude twards me seemed better. But they seemed very knowledgeable and i enjoyed being at this hospital. |

| Pasadena is a beautiful city and their hospital is amazing. The Hospital is one of the best hospitals I have found. Their rooms, staff, and everything else was just fabulous. |

OH MY! I would never have it any different. Most patients have their own room that feels like a hotel room. The view was beautiful. Their staff was wonderful, they were always giving me the medical attention I needed without asking, and they got me up and walking all the time, I always had fresh water in my ounce cups without having to pour it myself. It felt as if I were on vacation. I am really leaery about going to any other hospital now, seeing how attentive and knowledgable they were. |

If you have not had surgery yet, look into having it at this hospital. You will feel completely comfortable in knowing that you are in great hands. They go above and beyond. |

Huntington Hospital is the very best in the San Gabriel Valley. In fact, only two hospital received the highest ratings in California. Huntington Hospital and City of Hope. I was very very impressed with the level of attention I received. The cleanliness of the hospital is that of a 5-star hotel. The elegant entrance and gift shop is superior to any I've seen. And not to mention the cafeteria. Every single person who works there, and who came in contact with me, introduced themselves very politely. I was very comfortable there. |
