Obesity surgery is over 5 times more likely to cause remission of Type II Diabetes than conventional therapy, according to a recent study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association. Weight loss surgery can also eradicate a number of other obesity-related diseases, such as high blood pressure and sleep apnea.

I was so happy with the staff at this facility. When you first arrive and they are over the top polite I thought it was one of the PR ploys but it continued through-out my stay and subsequent stays. The staff is what makes the place and the staff is great from the nurses, facility services, xray and other technical staff. I am to say the least impressed. |

The nurses were hit or miss. My mom was with me the entire time, so I am sure that made the nurses job all that easier. The hospital was undergoing renovation so I wasn't in the bariatric wing. The nurses were extremely busy and it took awhile for them to respond to any request I had. There were some times that they did not bring what I asked (pain meds, IV going off for 30 minutes, etc.) The bed was incredibly uncomfortable, but the room had a nice view. Some of the nurses (including Rob and Faiyme) were incredibly helpful and patient, and they helped my stay at the hospital a little more pleasant. Overall, I think that the hospital was okay - I really don't have that much to compare it to. |

Very clean and well cared for facilities, wonderful staff and professionals. Special bariatric staff, special bariatric wing. Large beds, accomodating seats, large blood pressure cuffs and hospital gowns, etc. General staff in receiving, admissions, pre surgery, etc, familiar with bariatric services and needs, responsive and knowledgable. |

It is nice that the bariatric patients have their own ward and most of the nurses have had the surgery. They are knowledgeable and compassionate. The bariatric bed was no bigger than a regular hospital bed. It just had a frame over it and a bar hanging down that you could pull yourself up on. |

My experience at Jupiter Med was very positive. All of the employees were attentive to my needs. I think I actually made some friends. There was a pre-op nurse who had had the surgery 2 years ago and she looked great. Also, there was a floor nurse who had the surgery 10 months ago who was very positive. She was a little aggressive with the do's and dont's but she didn't mean any harm she just wanted us to be successful. |

Better than the ones I've used. The pre-op registration was quick and smooth. My pre-education class was quick and Joann is great!! No problems at all! |

I would recommend to others. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful while I was there. The nurses, especially Brenda and the ladies checking my temps and pulse, were wonderful and caring. I almost hated to go home, they made me feel like family. |

| I was looking for information on RNY surgery, so I emailed Jupiter and also JFK , both in Florida. The next day I recieved a phone call from Jupiter and my ball started rolling. JFK on the other hand. Has yet to write back to me or call me. I'm 4days post op. |

The staff, I felt had training in obese people and after care from RNY. The stay and the Staff was great, If I had to do this again, Without blinking my eyes, Jupiter Hospital is were I would go. |

It's really ashame i didn't have a better experience. I do believe the hospital tries very hard to make the stay an enjoyable one, but the staff left alot to be desired. I think this hospital should be rated on a lower scale than most hospitals I have been in. |

The hospital is beautiful, it's clean, the volunteers are wonderful but the staff have a real attitude problem. From the information desk to the floor nurses. It's an overall attitude that they don't even try to hide. They talk openly about it not being their job. There is resentment between the staff. It took me 2.5 days to get someone to help me take a shower. I used the nurse call button and I might as well have thrown it away. I never used it for anything unneccessary. It was just an attitude they were overwhelmed, over worked and under paid. It's not the hospital it was many key staff people. yet some of the staff were excellent. |

Excellent. All of the nurses, and all of the other employees were so kind, thoughtful and considerate. They were so responsive to any request, and everyone was so compassionate. Many of the nurses have had the surgery themselves and they give very valuable advice. |

This hospital is amazing. They have put together such a thorough comprehensive program for the bariatric patient. The hospital is neat and clean, the staff is wonderful, my friends and family were treated well, it was a great experience. I highly recommend Jupiter Medical Center, they take this stuff very seriously, and it shows in everything they do! |

I liked this hospital more than others I have stayed. JMC was more personable. |

A couple of the nurses had a hard time getting pain medicine to me, after I'd call 2-3 times, I was not happy with that at all. I feel the nurses lacked communication with each other. I found that I was allergic to a certain medicine, I had a very bad reaction, but they didnt note that in my chart and the next nurse tried to give it to me again. Other than that, everything was great. I especially liked the nutritional classes, and the hospital itself. Most nurses were fine, I just had a problem with 2 of them. |

| The surgeon I selected works out of this hospital. The hospital has a section of a floor for the gastric bypass patients. Also, two of the surgeon's coordinators have an office in the same hallway. The coordinators always made sure the patients were taken care of. They made sure food and meds were given properly. Also this hospital bought special beds with special mattresses to handle large people. |

Floor of hospital designated just for the bariatric patients. They had pre-op classes and post op classes. Treated you (an obese person, as a person, with compassion and respect. Unlike many others in the nmedical profession (like we're disgusting and lazy) |

All rooms at this hospital are private, which is nice. There is a special Bariatric unit for WLS patients. Dr. Vaughan's cooridinators have an office on this wing which was nice when you had questions the nurses couldn't help you with. They have Bariatric gowns, beds and wheelchairs, which made me feel lots more comfy. There was room for my mom to stay there with me which was nice. |

I stayed two weeks at the hospital due to complications. I was generally impressed with the nurses knowledge and care. However since there are several shifts I did have about two nurses who worked with me who I would have to say seemed to know very little about me and my condition. However, I would have to say that my overall experience at this hospital was enjoyable considering the circumstances. I guess I should add that Jupiter Medical is set up with it's own wing to handle bariatric patients. Everyone gets their own private room which is a huge benefit!!! |
