Overall Value: Good Oversized Equipped: Good Oversized Sensitive: Good
Multi Security: Good Privacy: Excellent Pain Medication: Excellent
Quiet: Good Visiting: N/A Staff Responsive: Good
How Selected: Surgeon selected it.
Comments: I had no estimation of cost for the hospital. I thought the out-of-pocket fee that my surgeon collected covered the hospital, but it was not. The hospital was an additional $2,273. I found this out 2 months AFTER the operation. I would have liked to get an estimation from the hospital BEFORE the operation.

Multi Security: Good Privacy: Poor Pain Medication: Excellent
Quiet: Poor Visiting: Good Staff Responsive: Average

How Selected: My surgeon, Dr. Paul T. Cirangle uses this facility to do his surgeries here in Hawaii.
Competitors: I would not want to comment on this because I was in another hospital but for a completely different type of procedure.
Comments: I felt that the hospital staff was not knowledgeable regarding weight loss surgery. They seemed so surprised when I told them that I had weight loss surgery, and asked me what was involved. Also, in one particular situation, my sugar count had dropped and the nurses immediately started to encourage me to drink regular fruit juices which is a no no after weight loss surgery. Also, I felt that certain hospital staff were very insensative to my needs when I informed them about the difficulty in finding my veins to administer an IV. They insisted that they knew what they were doing only to cause me quite a bit of pain and anxiety. After having attempted to insert the IV needle I realized that it was not placed correctly and so they were not able to use it anyway. Who knows yourself better?
