THE PARKING IS A LITTLE ODD, THERE NEVER SEEMS TO BE ENOUGH PARKING PLACES. THE STAFF ARE EXCELLENT IN INTRODUCING THEMSELVES AND SEEING TO YOUR COMFORT. IT IS VERY CLEAN THERE AND THEY HAD A SPECIAL MENU FOR BARIATRIC PATIENTS THAT YOU COULD ORDER ROOM SERVICE THAT I THOUGHT WAS REALLY NICE. |

| King's Daughters was only an hour away, and I had heard wonderful things about their WLS program. |

I have to say that I give this hospital a much higher rating than any that I've been in, and I've been in a few:) Very nice, compassionate nurses and staff in general. |

The only thing that I would like to see improve about this hospital would be the response time after hitting the nurse call button. I personally think that this is due to being slightly understaffed. |

| It is the hostpital that my surgeon used. Plus the one that my insurance company covered. |

It was Horrible. Compared to two other hospitals I have stayed at in my region. |

I was very dissapointed with the performance of the Nursing Staff at KDMC. It is ranked one of the top 100 in the United States and I would give it a 1. First because the Nurses were slow to respond to the request I made. Everytime I needed something. My son or his girlfriend would have to go to the Nurse's Station. My IV fell out of my arm once. It took the Nurse over thirty minutes to come to my room to help me. If I wouldn't have had a Pain Pump, I say I would have been in a great deal of pain. Having to wait on them. All thru the night you could hear patients groaning and screaming out in pain. It was a horrible experience. One that I will never go thru again. As far as the hospital in performance, it was very clean and up to date on technologly. Plus I couldnt have asked for a better surgeon. Just better Nurse's. |

All my experiences at KDMC have been great so far. I haven't had my surgery yet (hoping for the first two weeks in April), but everyone involved in my pre-op testing has been totally awesome! As for the WLS staff - some are good, some not so good. |

I want to say this...I have been treated the best by the WLS and surgeons...the nursing staff was tremendous...they were attentive without being overbearing and were strictly professionals...even during times of personal embarassment. |

I have only had my pre-op testing so far, but based on that, I have been very impressed with KDMC. They have been very helpful and friendly. After going through surgery my opinion has not changed. The service a King's Daughter's is outstanding. |

I actually had two surgeries pretty close together. What the others are saying about the nursing staff of the bariatrics floor is very true. There are only a few good ones who make you feel like they actually care about you. The night staff was the worst, you could lay there and die and it would take hours for someone to come and help you. It was the worst care I had received and their response time was horrible. Maybe other parts of the hospital would be different but on that floor there really needs to be a lot of improvement made in the way the nurses treat their patients. Jill was a very good nurse, only because she was one of my best friend's sister and she knew me from a long time ago. |

Most staff was extremely helpful, but it only takes a couple to spoil it. Some of the nurses on the floor need to realize that the way they make their patients feel leaves them feeling unwanted. But for the most part, everyone else was excellent. |

The general staff was really caring and accomodating with the exception of the night nurses on duty my entire stay. I have never had such little care or sense of urgency in a hospital my entire life! It was so bad I would seriously have to rethink going back to King's Daughters. I plan on reporting my night nurse to the Nursing Director next week. |

The staff was very slow to respond to patient needs. I had to lay in wet sheets for over two hours waiting for someone to change the linens. Call button was basically worthless. They would get to you when they felt like it and not a moment sooner. |

The only problem I had was that they let some dirty kid transfer me from surgery and all my family felt terrified as I'm being wheeled in from surgery by some kid who was, literally, dirty. He then told me I'd have to climb from the transport bed because he couldn't get me over there himself. The nurses were all good except one. |

Pre surgery care was great. Post care was very hit and miss. My first nurse was wonderful. The next was AWFUL. My husband got so upset with my care that I sent him home. I was told that every patient this nurse had that shift complained. The next nurse was nice but I felt she wasn't used to this unit. The last nurse seemed very competant but would always forget to bring me what I asked for. I felt like just a number in a bed. I am told these nurses are usually the best. I must have gotten the short end of the stick. |

Overall, I think KDMC is a wonderful hospital. I have stayed in this hospital before and had very satisfactory stays. My stay for my surgery wasn't nearly as pleasant though. A few of the nurses that I had were very rude and not compassionate at all. I complained to the hospital after my stay. I did receive a call from someone and she was very nice and seemed genuinely concerned with the problems that I encountered during my stay. I felt reassured after our discussion that the situation would be handled. It also made me feel better that the hospital cared enough to call me. No complaints with my surgeon, Tim Wheeler, his office staff, pre-surgery staff, etc., just some of the nurses on the bariatric floor. |

This hospital is full of caring people. I had the pleasure of having "The Bomb" Kellie as my nurse during my stay. She is a lovely person with a heart that is 100 times bigger than her smile. Everyone was very nice, helpful and caring. Thanks of all you did for me, my family and visitors. |
