THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAD WAS THAT I WAS TOLD IT WAS A FLAT FEE, THEN LATER RECEIVED BILL FOR LAB WORK. WHEN I CALLED WAS TOLD IT WAS NOT INCLUDED EVEN THOUGH I WAS TOLD AT PRE-OP THAT IT WAS. |

So I know some of the staff nurses and was very comfortable with them. |

| My insurance will only pay for the surgery at an HCA-affiliated hospital, and this was the closest one. Plus, the surgeon I used has a great reputation, as does the hospital. |

This is not the biggest hospital out there, but it's true what they say - "Good things come in small packages." The facility is modern, parking is convenient from any entrance, the staff is amazingly nice and helpful, and the nurses were more than accomodating. They have a level of service that you rarely find these days. |

I would choose Lakeview Regional for any type of procedure I needed to have done. Everyone there seems to really be glad to help and genuinely concerned for the patients. From the folks at pre-admissions to the recovery room to the nurses and the tech that wheeled me to the car, everyone was friendly and made me feel safe. There is not enough room on this website to say all the good things I would say about this hospital. |

| This is one of the hospitals that my surgeons uses and it was convenient for me and my family. |

I found hospital understaffed as are all hospitals. My stay would have been alittle better if the bed was not so uncomfortable, but comfort seems to be something hospitals are not too concerned with. |

Better than other area hospitals I've been in. Plenty of staff and private rooms. |

The staff including the dietary staff didn't understand the difference between DS and Gastric Bypass. They also made up tiny little cups of crystal light lemonade that were too strong terrible and kept trying to get me to drink them- ugh! Even when I got full liquids it was in the tiny little 1 oz. cups.
Quiet a few of the nurses had had either the gastric bypass or lap band and so were very sympathetic. |

| This was the only hospital in the Covington, Louisiana area that had the equipment necessary to perform the dueodenal switch. |

This hospital was above average in its care for me during my stay. |

The only thing that I gave a poor response to was the way that the staff was not very sensitive to overweight people. My main issue was that, having to have your bottom wiped for you is horrible enouh. 2 times that I had to ask for help, the nurses acted as though this was the most horrible thing. One nurse squirted my bottom with water from 2 feet away and then asked if it helped?!?! Other than this, they were awesome. |

| I searched the internet for the different affiliated hospitals JCAHO scores. LakeView had a 97. I also knew a patient that had their surgery there. |

It was awesome. The nurses were friendly and you don't have to wait 2 hours for someone to answer your call bell.They were right there when you called and ready for assistance. Most of all , they gave me hope by introducing me to 2 of the nurses that had this procedure done too. It made me feel good to know I can do it. |

I liked this hospital better than others that I have been in. Even though I like Northshore Regional, I liked this one more. |

The hospital was a great experience. After having the surgery I realised that quite a number of the nurses have had the surgery and they are more than willing to help with questions and ideas. Everyone there was very nice to me during my stay. |

| This was the only hospital "locally" that my surgeon performed the surgery. I was reluctant to have surgery at this hospital, but did not want to travel 30+ miles to go to another hospital that my surgeon would do the surgery. |

I was very pleased with the night staff. The day staff were not as friendly and rarely checked on me. I kind of felt like I was on my own during the day. I was mostly upset because I had my surgery on early Tues a.m. but did not take a shower until late Thurs. night. I was never told that I was allowed to shower and no one offered to assist me or to change my hospital gown or my sheets that entire time. My husband went to the nurses station on Thurs night at 11pm and asked when I could shower. The night nurse was very upset that I had not been told this previously and that I should not have still been in the same gown and the same sheets this entire time. She and the nurse's assistant brought me fresh sheets, a fresh gown and assisted in disconnecting my I-V so I could take a shower. I felt 150% better once all of this had been done. It would have been great if I had been told sooner, then I could have felt better sooner as well. |

I still prefer St. Tammany Hospital staff to Lakeview's. St. Tammay Hospital is supposed to be gettin set up to have the surgery performed there. I suggest looking into that hospital for a first choice, if this is the general location that you will be having your surgery. |

Lakeview was a dream come true. I got personal care like I had never experienced before. I was wheeled to my room from recovery by the recovery room nurse and not just an orderly. When it came time to go home the floor nurse escorted me to my car. I was helped by anyone and everyone. I had people form the hospital come to me prior to my surgery to tell me that they or a friend had the surgery and encouraged me that what I was doing the right thaing. Even one of the operating room nurses said that she had the surgery. I was tottally comfortable at Lakeview. |

| This hospital was in my network but there were hospital's closer to my home than this one. I selected a hospital further away from my area for privacy reasons and since I work at a hospital in my area. |

Lakeview hospital's staff and all those involved in my care were none other than Wonderful! I was so well treated. To be honest I trully can say I felt as though my family were there caring for me! That's how well of an experience I had at this hospital. I totally and completely recommend this faciltiy to anyone having bariatric surgery! |

| I selected this hospital because my surgeon had a quicker date for the surgery at this hospital because the other hospital where he does the surgery at was booked up until the following month. |

The nurses on the floor where I was staying kept saying that they never worked with bariatric patients before and were not very accomodating until I really got sick. I can't say all of the nurses but the night time nurse was unfriendly and the only thing that she thought the remedy for my complaints was to push the morphine pump. |
