Competitors: Ive been in the hospital four times when I had each of my children and I have to say that Centinela Freeman, Marina Del Rey was by far better than any other hospital that I have been in.

How Selected: This is a Center for Excellence and where my surgeon performs WLS.
Competitors: Excellent
Comments: The nursing staff that cares for WLS patients is outstanding. I didn't expect the genuine concern and compassion they have for Dr. Korman's patients. I was treated with dignity and appreciated it. A couple of the nurses told me they specifically only work on days they can care for Dr. Korman's patients. They're great.

How Selected: I didn't, but I am glad my Dr. Did. Originally it would probably been at Centinela Freeman in Inglewood. I did not like that hospital at all. But once I visited the Marina Campus, I was relieved. The staff was exellent.
Competitors: I love the fact that it is small. They only handle curtain procedures. They are not a large, busy emergancy hospital. They are able to cater to the patient and are not overwhelmed. I love the Marina Campus.
Comments: My nurses, Gloria and Cathy were awesome. They catered to my every need and made me feel as though I was a valued patient.

How Selected: The only hosptial where my surgeon performs WLS and has ER privialeges
Competitors: Have never been an inpatient in any other local hospital
Comments: Phenominal nursing staff!!! A fully functional, but small hospital. They have just started doing WLS, but the staff seems to be very educated about WLS patients. My stay for surgery, as well as a subsequent ER visit, was an overall good experience.

How Selected: This was the hospital that my surgeon uses, didn' have a choice once I settled on Dr. Korman
Comments: The best best best. They answered a call in one or 2 minutes. When I needed something, there would be 2 or 3 people there to help. The nursing was astounding!!! Got help in the shower, the CNA washed by back and my feet. She had a warm flannel blanket waiting for me when I was done. I sat in the big recliner while she dried me off and put lotion on me, all the time being considerate of my privacy....I swear, it was almost like staying in a spa.

How Selected: Dr. Korman works out of this hospital.
Competitors: I have not been to any other local hospitals.
Comments: I have to say that this hospital has been the best hospital I have been to ever. I was very impressed with the nurses and the bariatric unit within the hospital. I will be honest, it is not much to look at on the outside (especially the area that it is in) but the staff and the cleanliness on the inside was, I feel, above and beyond. I just loved the nursing staff.

How Selected: This is the hospital my surgeon (Jeremy Korman) uses.
Competitors: The only other local hospital I have any experience with is Cedars-Sinai. While I think I'd prefer Cedars for an emergency, I was pleased with Daniel Freeman for this surgery. Daniel Freeman is smaller, quieter, and more personal.

How Selected: This the hospital that Dr Korman worked out of.
Competitors: This was the only hospital I was in while being in Californai
Comments: I was Dr Kormans second patient to have surgery here and I was treated like royality. The nurses went out of there way to help me with anything as well as making sure my wife was OK as well and made sure she liked my room as. My wife is a nurse so they let her in on a lot of stuff that a normal spouse would not of seen behind the lines. They were there for me as well as for her for anything and everything and I cant say enough and how great they were from the ICU to my private room. The night nurse put her desk at my door and was there for me all night in case I had a problem but I did fine. All in all I thank them for being there for me and helping me on the start of my new life, they were the best.

Comments: This hospital staff are excellent, the nurses and physical therapist and all were wonderful to me..very caring! The only complaint I have is teh bed and chairs were awful! I could not sleep well at all and had to leave a day early so that I could come home to my recliner. Not all had this prob but I sure did.

How Selected: This is the only hosppital as of yet, that Dr. Korman is operating at...that I know of.
Comments: Recently opened the Bariatric Dept. .There are 2 private rooms that are reserved for Bariatric patients only. Very well equipped ...large gowns, large well chairs and furniture, etc.. Some of the other equipments is a little outdated, but all in all ,a very comfortable stay.
