Quiet: Poor Visiting: Excellent Staff Responsive: Poor

How Selected: Referred by my cardiologist who is also affiliated with it.
Competitors: This hospital has a poor reputation on the community, and I understand why. There were so many things wrong on so many levels.
Comments: Poor nursing assistance - slept in a soiled gown because no more were available overnight and bathed myself each day. Poor housekeeping in general - trash all over my floor. Poor response to calls which can be heard in every patient's room. Emptied my own urine cup and cleaned up leakage from the floor myself so I wouldn't slip. This caused one of my trocar sites to dehisce. Tended by a nursing student and had no idea that it was a teaching hospital. Student connedted my IV incorrectly. EKG pads all over me days after surgery. Overall, sloppy work by those who work there.

Competitors: Very dirty, non professional...LPN taking care of gastric bypass pt on the vent and in ICU...never heard of LPN working in an ICU unit. No on with my husband when he was coming off meds while still on the vent..this was very upsetting to him..and he is still upset over this..I as the surgeion to make sure he is taken care of when coming off the vent. This was not done...LPN taking care of him did not even know how to suction him!
Comments: Do not help with gastric bypass patient's family with this being an elective surgery family from out of town should be helped more. Very dirty hospital with all carts, beds, iv poles so dirty you could write your name in the dust. Nurse letting IV line drag the floor and pick up and hook to the patient...nursing not match up to the condition of the patient. The bed size and wheelchair size was all that was provided for overweight pateints
