How Selected: The Hospital my surgeon operates at.
Competitors: I have stayed in a few different hospitals, it was good to excellent.
Comments: I was moved 3 times to different rooms during my stay. The first time I was on floor 3 and it was quite noisy and unable to rest due to noise. Moved to the 4th floor where it was definately quiter. I had one nurse who was extremely nice but also very busy who checked out that she was to give me my pain medicine but forgot to give it to me before her shift change. I was without pain meds for 6 hrs, and this was on my 2nd day, so I was in pain still. There was a nurse assistant named Pam that was the best! She took care of me as if I was her own family. I give big props to Pam!

How Selected: PPO/Physician
Competitors: Better tha average.
Comments: The reason that I gave a poor rating on the "quiet" question is that the intermediate care rooms are divided by curtains(most of them). I was one of the unfortunate patients to be placed next to a VERY RUDE person who kept his TV blaring all day & night. This happened my last evening at the hospital. The other nights where quiet & peaceful. As far as the pain meds... the 1st shift of nurses apparently did not follow my Dr's instructions and did not give me the appropriate amount of pain meds...Finally a very kind nurse (Stone) followed the given orders & I was fine after this. I don't think they realized that I have horrid back pain. All in all, everyone I came in contact at Mountain View where very accomodating & kind...they are busy but go out of thier way to help you.Overall stay was just fine.

How Selected: It was one of two hospitals that my surgeon operated at.
Competitors: Far superior than the other local hospitals allowing WLS.
Comments: Most of the nursing staff (save one) was very respectful of my surgery. Several of them expressed that several of the staff themselves went through WLS and had very positive results. Day staff a bit slower to respond, but generally wasn't a problem. Highly recommend Mountain View.

Comments: MY STAY THERE WAS VERY NICE, AND I DO BELIEVE THEY PLAN ON OBTAINING MORE EQUIPMENT FOR THE OBESE.
