How Selected: Well, I this was the closest hospital where Dr. Malik performed his surgeries.
Competitors: Nash General verses Wilson medical no brainer. Nash General is on top of Wilson Med at least 100 to 1.
Comments: Nash general was one of the cleanest hospitals I have been in. The staff was very respectful, especially this one nurse I wish I could have taken her home. I rather not mention any names. But for the most part i really felt comfortable.

How Selected: This is where my surgeon performs all of his bariatric surgeries.
Competitors: Everyone that I had the pleasure to meet went above and beyond the call of duty, and they treated me like family! I have never had this kind of experience at ANY hospital before. I was originally scheduled to have my surgery at Rex, but ended up having to cancel my surgery date due to unforseen cicumstances. I did all of my pre-op testing there, and I wasn't impressed. People there were BEYOND insensitive. By definition being insensitive is saying something without thinking how it might affect the person you're talking to, and possibly not understanding that what you are saying may be hurtful. Let my just say that I heard some snide, sarcastic, hurtful, and downright mean comments. And it wasn't just one person either. I am SO glad that I ended up having my surgery at Nash County General.
Comments: I have to say that in general, I hate hospitals! I have been to so many over the years, and I always dread it. With that in mind, I've NEVER had an experience like this before. When you first see the hospital, it looks fairly old, and very small, and that's very misleading. As soon as you walk in the front entrance it's absolutley beautiful! Everything in the hospital from medical equipment to decor are brand new and state of the art.The people there were absolutley wonderful, and the very best in their respective fields. I'm not exaggerating when I say that every single person that I met and worked with were terrific! The nurses that worked with me were literally angelic...DEBBIE, YOLANDA, and HEATHER, I will adore yall forever! I never wanted for a single thing, and they were ahead of me on everything. They would come in and remind me to start my pain meds BEFORE I started to hurt. Their philosophy is that since there is medication to wipe out the pain, there is absolutley NO REASON for anyone to experience it. And of course when you're in pain you tend to breathe shallowly, which in turn can cause pnemonia, and other serious complications. Now even beyond that they all went above and beyond the call of duty. Even saying that they treated me like royalty can be misleading, because as wonderful as that may be, I would tend to think that it's impersonal. They literally treated me like a treasured family member, and I will never forget them. They would come in and rub my head, scratch my back, or whatever I wanted. All of them also would come in and just talk. About everything. They honestly expressed a true desire to know all about me and my life. And I wanted to know about them, too. It was SO VERY COMFORTING, because outside of my husband and children, I have NO family closer than a 15 hour drive, and my mom just passed away. I would venture to say if they treat EVERYONE that way, they must have close friends numbering in the thousands! lol.... Having my surgery there was one of the most positive experiences that I have ever had. I would recommend this hospital to anyone and everyone. You most assuredly won't regret it.
