I would say it is overall the best. I looked into another facility with another doctor and am certain I made the right choice with Dr. Macik and Northside. |

| This is the hospital where my surgeon does all of his surgeries. He selected it. |

It was much better than any other hospital I have ever been in. |

The staff was very aware of what goes on with a gastric bypass patient, from the pre-op to the post -op. They were able to share insights from previous patients and they get excited with you about what you want to accomplish. They even want to see before and after photos! |

I have lots of experience with Emory and sadly I think nursing care suffers everywhere. |

I had a great night nurse (Kara) but a terrible, insensitive, rude day nurse both on the day of my surgery and the day after (Jackie). She was so defensive and downright mean, not to mention dumb. A bad combination! |

Compared to North Fulton Regional Hospital, Northside rates very low. The nurses treat you as if you are imposing on their time if you ask for anything. I had to press the call buttonnumerous times before someone came to assist was not uncommon. |

I have had two experiences at this hospital one where I was the patient and the other where my daughter was the patient. I was not happy either time. My hospital stay was not due to WLS. There is no way I would have WLS there based on my past experiencecs. |

After the renavations I feel there should have been more thought put into the design of the rooms. The help string in the bathroom does not have an intercom and when the staff called back it was in the other room. Bathroom door oprns into the door to come into the room the hit if your comming out of the restroom and someone is comming in the main door. Staff at night not very attentive nurse was quick to say "not my job" call the tech...... |

This was my first time in the hospital, so I can't compare. |

I was surprised by how dirty the hospital was. I'd only been in the Women's Center of Northside Hospital to visit a friend who'd had a baby and that portion is awesome. The main hospital is completely different. There was trash on the floor that I saw for 2 days straight as I walked the halls, a dirty towel left on the floor of the hallway, visable dirt in the room and bathroom. It was pretty gross. Very disappointing. The nurse told me they were planning to renovate the day after I left, but they should have done it long ago and really renovating doesn't take care of trash problems. Nasty.
HOWEVER, my nurses Cara and Kathy were awesome. They were both so kind and caring. I couldn't have asked for better nurses. |

I thought the hospital did a great job with the exception of the recovery room nurse. I told her I was hungry when I woke up and she said Thats why you are hear now! Now you aren't hungry are You? I felt really mad, for her to speak to a patient in this manner is unacceptable. |

Northside Hospital is as good a hospital as those in the immediate area. |

The hospital itself could have been cleaner! Especially my bathroom! I had a private room that was supposed to have a recliner type chair for the person staying with me overnight. Instead there was just two regular chairs to put together to sleep on. This to me was not worth the extra expense of having a private room. |

It is the only hospital I have been too. |
| Comments: |
It was really hard to rest because the halls are really noise. There is a nurse shortage so it was hard to get help when needed. I had a beribed however none of the nurses knew how to use it so we had to figure it out. I ended up talking my doctor into letting me go home a day early just so I could get some rest. |

I thought the nursing staff did a great job. One of the nurses discharged m IV prematurely, but I'm glad she did. My first day, no one helped me to wash up or offered...but I was able to get it done on my own. The recliners are a bit uncomfortable for overnight guests, so I told my mom to go home the second night. Those Bari-Beds are awesome! |

The hospital staff were great, they waited on me anytime I needed their assistance, the nursing staff were fantastic, kind and caring. A great hospital stay, felt like I was on vacation for 2 days. |

My stay was horrendous. I don't like to talk about it for fear of dissuading someone from the surgery.Had I wished to pursue it, I would've had a case for a lawsuit. |
