| Dr. Wizman does the majority of his surgeries at this hospital. I have never dealt with this hospital before but it was covered by my insurance and it was Dr. Wizman's hospital of choice. |

I was very concerned that they are obviously understaffed. I realize that there is a nursing shortage at this time but three different times my IV bag ran out and it took them too long to get down there to change it. The last time it happened, I requested that the IV be removed because it became clogged and I suffered from an infiltration of the IV solution into the surrounding tissues. |

The hospital itself was very clean and seemed to have good operations. The hospital staff was pleasant but the nurses were obviously overworked. There could have been better patient care in some aspects. |

There was a definite shortage of staff, so much so that the leg cuffs after surgery were not put on consistently after taking them off. This was dangerous because of developing blood clots. They were respectful of my praying in the operating room before my surgery began, in fact, one of the nurses sang the Lord's Prayer to me! |

I live about 45 min to an hour away from this hospital...so I haven't really been to to its local hospitals. I know I much prefer Palms West Hospital in Loxahachee. It it much more accomadating. |

The nurses were very slow. A couple even brought me straws, which I am not allowed to have. They also brought me a full tray of. I was only suppose to be given liquids. So I don't think they really communicated well. |

| It was one of two facilities that my surgeon had medical priveledges at. My surgeons office made the decision when scheduling my procedure. |

As a nurse, I feel that this hospital was only average at best. I had one positive experience with one of the staff nurses, her name was Marcia (good nurse), but I felt the other nurses on the unit lacked quality training in bariatric surgery. |

This is not a facility I would choose to go back to. When the discharging nurse was preparing me for discharge, her discharge patient education was very poor. She did not wear gloves when removing my IV (there are severe infection control issues at this facility). My partner also found an uncapped needle in the hallway near my room. Had this needle been used? Why was it not in a Sharpe's container? I was only bathed one time, the day after surgery by one of the Patient Care technicians (PCTs). The only time I ever saw a PCT was there q4hour vital signs check. As a nurse, I have to admit I was not impressed, if not disappointed by some of the behaviors and practices of this facility. I did request to review my chart, and was denied. As a patient, please be informed it is a Federal right for you to have access to your medical record information. |

They gave me a private room with a special bariatric bed designed for obese patients and that really helped getting in and out of the bed. I had a private bathroom and the bed had the nurse call button, the tv remote, and the bed adjuster on it. The nurses were very familiar with my DR. and his procedures. My Dr. came by two times to see if I was doing OK. Great experience. |

The hospital was fine, some of the nurses, and aides should be better informed about the WLS itself. I was questiond repeadedly about why I did this, what was it about, ect. Sort of bothered me to have to explain all this a few times to different nurses, or aids when I was in so much pain, and didn't want to really to to begin with. |

The staff was fine, most of my nurses were excellent. I only had two complaints. 1) When they left me sitting in a chair for an hour because they stripped all the sheets off my bed and left without puttung them back on. 2) When the disconnected my pain pump and ignored the four calls I made to them about it. Other than that it was fine. |

It's awful. The hospital, the rooms, the beds, and the equipment all seemed to be very ancient. The nurses are like rejects from the nicer hospitals. I would have much preferred Memorial Regional in Hollywood, FL if I had a choice. |

The worst part about my stay there was giving blood. It was obvious that they were all very inexperienced because I had to be stuck 3-5 times every time, I had to give blood for testing. My veins are not hard to find, I give blood every 4 months. |

Because they needed additional beds, I was put on the 2nd floor and the nurses didn't quite know their job.
I would have rather had been on the 6th floor where the staff was throughly trained. I had to tell the nurses what to do, because they were scratching their heads half the time. |

Nursing care was terrible. Day nurse assigned to me was neglectful as in letting my IV fluids run completely out & no response for over 2 hrs & a request to the charge nurse was the only way I was able to have my IV up, dietary didn't respond,they have boxes set up, but again had to request it. I'm a nurse so I know how it works, and it's a good thing she had good co-workers to cover her. I saw more of them than her. Assesment skills,monitoring of intake & output,NOT! Good thing I didn't have much pain, although it did take atrip to the nurses station once on post-op day 2. Pvt room was wonderful & clean |

I once worked in the health care field, and am extra critical of patient care....Even with that, I can not say enough good about Northwest Medical Center. The nurses and staff were all excellent or better. Each nurse I had was enthusiastic, understanding, prompt, respectful, and in a damn good mood, they even did not seem to be stretched to thin either. If I called for pain meds, I had them in less than 3 minutes-and I timed them! If I called for help with any task, they were right there. When I walked on my own, all of the staff (nurses and patient care techs) encouraged me and made me feel great! |

Only less than positive thing I can say is that some of the visitor chairs in the facility, meeting rooms, and patient rooms are thin sized. But they had adequate sized gowns, beds, and recliners for the patients. Over all, a WONDERFUL experience. |

the first night was great. the nurses were very helpful but after that it was awful. the nurses forgot to give me my meds for gas pains and when i asked for them, they told me i had nothing. it took me 12 hours of insisting along with my wife for them to check whether i had something for it and then the nurse admitted i did. after that she told me i had receive it already but the previous nurse never bothered to hook it up to my iv and just left it there. the nurse became a bit more apologetic after that but the next one i had wasn't much better and made me wait for 1 1/2 hours for my pain meds. i would not reccommend this hospital |

I was not pleased in general with the nursing staff. There were maybe 1 or 2 good ones, and the rest did not seem to care. |

The main problem was the shortage of nursing staff and the refusal of the dietary staff to adjust to the needs of bariatric patients. |

THIS HOSPITAL IS MUCH BETTER. THERE WAS A PRIVATE ROOM WITHOUT EXTRA COST. THE STAFF ALL SPOKE ENGLISH AND WERE VERY ACCOMODATING. |

THE EMERGENCY ROOM WAS THE BEST
ROOMS WERE GREAT ESPECIALLY NOT HAVING TO PAY FOR A PRIVATE ROOM. |

I know the Tenet hospitals(FMC, HMC) and N Brwd hosp. district (BGMC, NBMC) and this is a much more laid-back, easy-going, and helpful environment, at least the 6th flr. They were better staffed and more professional than the others. It's probably because this is a for profit hospital unlike others. |

All the WLS patient go to the 6th floor and stay in private rooms. You're given a PCA pump so you can give yourself medication every 8 minutes if you need it. My family and friends were working during the day so they came to visit after 6p, the nurses allowed all of them to stay close to midnight although visiting hrs were until 8p. The nurses were all really sweet, except for my 1st night post-op, the 7p-7a shift. I believe they had made an error in scheduling, because there was one nurse serving my side of the floor, were there's normally 4. She was really stressing. Otherwise, all the other nurses were great and that didn't happen again. |
