How Selected: My insurance would cover WLS here
Competitors: You wait forever here, my biggest gripe.
Comments: The surgery was perfect, no complications and even left the hospital after only one night. The hopital was just ok.....the recovery room that night was awesome, those nurses were rockin'. Then the next moring they take me to a room and blah, from there. I asked for a private and was pretty much SOL there. The room they put me in had another patient, no biggie I guessed, but then I got to my bed and the dirty sheets from the previous patient was still on the floor....gross. My new nurse was aggravated that I was getting in this room only to leave in a few hours....excuse me I'm still a paying patient. I complained about the laundry on the floor and was told she would get to it. Everything I needed seemed to take forever. I was told I could leave after I had my broth for lunch. I was excited about that. Only thing is lunch never came, and now it was dinner time......dinner never came. I was so ready to leave. I sent my DH three times to get lunch/dinner. Finally the nurse went in the lounge to get a couple of items for me to eat. Is this sad or what. I bet those meals are on my bill. I finally swigged the broth down and flew the coup. I couldn't wait to get out of there. My only two wishes is that the wait wouldn't be so long, the wait in this place is crazy, and that they were closer to my home.

How Selected: I had worked on the bariatric unit (nurse), and chose my surgeon based on his skill. The bariatric unit is well equipped and staffed great. Amazing nurses there, from both perspectives.
Competitors: In my experience as a nurse, this hospital far surpasses other area hospitals both in skill and in caring.
Comments: This was my second surgery with this surgeon and his facility. I would highly recommend them both to anyone. He is excellent as is the fantastic staff that supports him and provides genuine caring service to his patients.

How Selected: I've been employed at the hotel that is attached to the hospital for 25 years
Competitors: far superior
Comments: The anesthesia staff are all great, from the CRNA's to the docs. The nursing staff is made up of a lot of "travel nurses" (post Katrina) that have been brought in to help the nursing shortage in this area. Everyone worked together as a team and the surgery experience was made easier for me as a result.
