How Selected: This hospital is close to my home and I knew that they were a Center of Excellence for this surgery. The surgeon and the hospital have a great reputation so as soon as I considered the surgery, I knew I would go with Inland Valley Medical Center and Dr. Suh.
Comments: I had a wonderful experience. I had a beautiful and big private room on the hospital's new wing. The nurses were very attentive and worked very hard. I really liked that they kept their names on a bulletin board so I always knew the name of the nurse and the aid who were caring for me. They were very good about making sure that my pain level was fine and that I got up and walked. The nurses aid was so personable. She explained that she is in nursing school. I know she will be a great nurse some day. I loooooved having such a nice, big and beautiful private room.

How Selected: This was where Dr Suh performs his surgeries.
Competitors: Can't compare to Pomona Valley Hospital, however at Inland Valley they are expert in bariatric surgery recovery.
Comments: Everything might have gone well, except, I had a horrible bed. It caused great discomfort. And, I am not mistaking this for gas or anesthetic discomforts. The staff was very noisy at times, especially at night, but, if you closed your door, you didn't hear anything. I did have a wonderful private room. Also, the nurses were great, especially the two that tried to fix my bed. I also had to stay an extra night due to high white cell count. Never got a fever. All and all, I was so glad to get home!

How Selected: It was selected for me.
Competitors: The staff was wonderfully kind and attentive. I was not impressed with the overall cleanliness of my room, however. The bed was most uncomfortable, and I weighed only 245 at surgery. I believe that bed would have been hell on a much heavier person than I.

Comments: Did not like the surgery center waiting room. Filled with patients, friends and family.
