Competitors: This was the worst hospital experience that i have ever had. I have been in University of MD and my local community hospital.
Comments: The nurses including the head charge nurse was horrible! I was left for 2 1/2 hours with out my pain pump hooked up correctly. The nurses were always behind the nurses station eating, laughing and chatting while patients were calling to them. It would take hours before anyone came and you always had to call at least twice. The head nurse did not read my chart nor was she familiar with my needs after surgery. My husband had to mess with the pain pump to get it too work every 6 mins! The nurses were so lazy and stupid thank god nothing went wrong or else i know i would have died. thank god my husband was there as well!

How Selected: It's the hospital that Dr. Singh is associated with. It's also where I deliverd my 2 daughters. I've always had great experiences there.
Competitors: I've never been admitted to any other hospital other than St. Agnes. However, my husband has been in 2 others. St. Agnes is the best as far as staff friendliness but when it came to specializing, Hopkins was better equipped.
Comments: I love St. Agnes. They are great at what they do and they encourage follow-up meetings. The staff genuinely care about how you feel and want to see you do well.

How Selected: This hospital was close to work and home. I had only been to the emergency room. I found this is a hospital for the patients not the big bucks. They even offer free valet parking for all.
Competitors: Well the one thing i find difficult with the other hospitals is parking accomadations. Most of my city hospitals parking is a big issue. When your having an emergency, parking is the first thing you have to think about before going to the hospital.

How Selected: My surgeon, who is great, is affilated with this hospital.
Competitors: I have been to a few other hospitals in the Anne Arundel county and Baltimore area and this was not as good comfort wise. Bathrooms are small in the rooms and the heat was unbearable for me. You can't adjust your own room heat. The bed was more uncomfortable then other hospital beds I have been in also.
Comments: The pre-op nurses were great, but when I got to my room the first couple of nurses I had were not that friendly. I did have a very nice nurse and tech the next morning before I was leaving. I didn't really have a good experience once I was in my room. Again, the pre-op people were great and made me feel secure. I didn't get any sleep while I was there. It was loud, they were in and out of my room all night and the heat kept me awake.
