Excellent. Only one other major hospital in this area. They are the standard others strive to emulate |

Things were overall as well as can be expected. My hospital experience if very limited. St. Mary's staff went out of their way to make my stay pleasant. My only complaint is that the elevators are old and slow!----CAVEAT You must bear in mind that my wife is employed there--I think my responses would be the same regardless, but knowing whom I belonged to may have altered how I was treated by the staff. |

The staff was not only professional, but very personable.. they were very attentive and caring. The hospital is very clean, and is well prepared for a bariatric patient. I felt very comfortable in their care! |

This hospital was not local for me. I live an hour and 15 minutes away from the hospital. I am unable to compare this hospital with local hospitals. |
| Comments: |
I was only in the hospital 3 days. It was a little frusterating because the nurses were not organized and it seemed they didnt really know what was going on. There was no communication between them and I kept having to repeat things over and over. At one point they gave me a regular popsicle with sugar and said that I could have it. I know from research that I cannot have anything that contains that much sugar. I got the feeling that they really didnt care and they all just wanted to get through the day. The attitude up there was not very positive and many nurses complained alot. Being a patient, I am not concerned about their work load or how tired they are. I am there to recover and to feel that I am wanted and safe. I did not get that feeling. |

They were overall the best hospital here in Enid in my opinion. |
| Comments: |
They were always willing to accomadate with in need I wanted one night I couldn't sleep in the bed anylonger and ask the wonderful nurse if the could bring me a recliner within minutes I have recliner it was to small but they did there best in all Continually encouraged me to try differen suppliments or anythin else you could want. Then my last night there they woved me to another room where I could get comfortable in and actually got me some sleep. |

| This is one of two here in Enid and I like St. Mary's better than the other one. It has all the equipment that Dr. Walton needed for the surgery (lap instruments, open instruments, and weight bearing table). I also chose it because it is Dr. Walton's hospital of choice. It also has the program starting for the WLS patients. |
| Competitors: |
I can't really compare because I have not been in, as a patient, to the other hospital here in town. |
| Comments: |
I was really impressed overall. There were some things that got on my nerves. I liked the nurses... they were great and really seemed to care about my being there. As I was released, my head nurse wheeled me out and gave me a hug to see me off. I had one nurse that never failed to remind me to smile and that made me feel good. I believe her name was Debbie. I don't remember many nurse's names, but all the RNs and CNAs were very nice. I thought they could use a little improvement in getting things to me. I sort of had to remind them about my meals and water and even medicine sometimes. Some were better than others. I got a little tired of asking for things and getting them 45 minutes later. The other thing is that WLS is VERY NEW to St. Mary's. I knew that from the get-go. So it didn't come to a surprise that I really had to remind them of a lot. I think it was the first day they gave me regular 7-up for my meal and that was a big no-no. The nurse apologized and didn't do it again. Other things were about crushing pills and such. I think there was only one nurse I didn' care for, don't remember her name, but she would always comment on the dainty little meals I have to have and how she couldn't ever imagine doing such a thing. It just sort of got annoying. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and was impressed with my care. |
