I had a good experience, because I know a lot of staff from working with them which made it comfortable. I would love to be here as opposed to any other hospital. |

University hospital for the last 8 years was ranked number 1. I trulysee why. The staff went out of there way to accomadate not just me but my family. My four day stay there was nice. |

Doctors is my favorite. I really wished I could have gone there. I love Doctors.
St. Joseph's would have been my second choice.
I dont know anything about MCG. |

Due to person experiences THIS WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN MY HOSPITAL OF CHOICE. I did meet a lot of few wonderful nurses during my stay for RNY, but the night crew SUCKS . They are very unpolite and aren't very professional to say the least. |

| University was selected by my physician. |

The staff was competant, professional, compassionate; by far the best staff I have had to provide care for me. |
| Comments: |
The care I received was excellent. I didn't not have a PCA, but my pain medicine was always delivered when I needed it..the staff was caring and concerned for my recovery. I never felt like I had to look for my nurse or PCA..because they were always there assessing my condition and making sure my needs were met. My family stated that they felt comfortable leaving me in their care. That says a lot for a hospital.
I also found out that they are preparing to convert a couple of rooms as specialty rooms for bariatric surgery patients. The room I received was excellent in size, and the chairs were perfect sized for bariatric patients. I felt they were truly concerned for my recovery. |

I will have to be honest. The nurses forget about your butt. I even got into an arguement with this nurse on night shift. She thought she knew everything and she didn't. Other than that everything seemed to be okay. I had no problem with anything else. Anyone that ever has to stay at the University should most definitely have RoseMary as your nurse she is good people. |

I can only compare University Hospital to one other hospital in my area which I had a terrible stay there. |
| Comments: |
I would recommend University Hospital to anyone. They have an excellent staff. They are very friendly and curtious. When ever I need anything they came immediately. If I had to rate Univetsity Hospital on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being excellent and 1 being terrible. I would give them a 9 because no one or nothing is perfect. |

| I thought the hospital was one of the mainstream hospitals in my area with expertise in high risk patients. |
| Competitors: |
I think Doctor's Hospital would have provided perhaps better bedside and monitering care. I just wasn't secure in their ability to handle crisis. St. Joseph's Hospital is known for compassionate care but not the level of difficulty for patient care. MCG is so big and impersonal I wouldn't go there for anything they have. |
| Comments: |
They seem to have the accessory staff needed but their iniative toward giving quality and compassionate care wasn't up to pare. Also there were lapses of good universal precautions with staff. They were not practicing comprehensive care. I had to call them to reconnect my Oxygen, locate my fluids and incentive spirometer, ask for help turning when I had been left on my back way too long, and even something to clear my nose after I had cried in frustration. |

The best of all the hospitals in this area (and there are a good many hospitals around here!!) |
| Comments: |
The staff were extraordinarily busy during my stay, so I had to wait a good while in between various requests. Now, if I'd had to wait for pain meds, I'd have been furious, but fortunately I had a pca pump! *l* Everyone was super-nice, though, except for these two particular nurses. I was doped up out of my gourd, so I can't even describe them. All I can remember is being only 12 hours or so post-op and waking up in excruciating pain because I was being turned and lifted every which way as they tried to bathe me. Despite my cries and screams to please stop, they persisted. It was AWFUL!! |

I have stayed in/visited several hospitals around Georgia over the years. The is THE BEST hospital I have ever personally used or known anyone else to experience either. |
| Comments: |
The staff is like a well oiled machine, working together in smooth precision and a state of efficiency while maintaining happy and quick-to-help attitudes. They are more than generious in all areas. The facilities were great. And the parking is free and even free shuttles are available. |
