How Selected: Initially considered bariatric surgery at Columbia-Presbyterian in NYC. While at their seminar, I learned that they were affiliated with the Ridgewood, NJ hospital, The Valley Hospital. This was more convenient to my home so I attended their seminar a few months later. I loved the Nurse who made the presentation, Giovani DuGay and was very impressed with Dr. Davis' brief introduction.
Competitors: This hospital is far and away one of the best in terms of patient care and bedside manner. Everyone from the information desk workers to the custodians make it clear that they are there to care for you. I'd recommend this hospital to anyone with any medical need.
Comments: Overall atmosphere is warm, caring, concerned, and friendly. Everyone is treated the same way. Each and every patient is special to this hospital and all its workers. I was a delight being cared for by these wonderful individuals.

How Selected: It was one of 2 surgeries where my surgeon operated. I felt this was the better choice. I have had other family members in this hospital and I have one on staff.
Comments: I had a WONDERFUL nursing staff, the hospital (Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ) was amazing (every time a baby is born from between say, 9:00 am and 9 pm, they play a few bars of "Lullabye" over the loud speaker. How nice to have such a positive sharing when you are in the hospital for other things. They had a women with a portable electric harp playing soothing music in the halls on Saturday, and the nurses, the nicest, most professional I have every seen.) Valley staff (and the nurses and i aides I had) went out of their way to not only take care of the things that needed to be taken care of, but to make me feel nurtured, and that they really cared about me.
