| It was one of the two hospitals my surgeon performed surgeries. Being cash pay, it left me with only that choice. However, it is a wonderful hospital and is geared toward weight loss surgery. |

The nursing staff is diligent about monitoring vitals. The scheduling of surgeries and recovery time is handled well so the ratio to patients seemed to be 3 people to 1 nurse. There is a doctor that comes in every couple of hours to check on progress. |

| Surgeon selected it for me because I was a cash patient, apparently it was the cheapest. |

This is more of a surgery center than a hospital and they do primarily bariatric and plastic surgery. On my floor all I saw were bariatric surgery patients, so we had very knowledgable and trained nurses. |

I'd rather have this surgery here than some huge hospital that does everything under the sun. I felt like everyone from admitting to labs to radiology ALL were in favor of bariatric surgery and were so encouraging and supportive. |

This hospital was AWFUL! I would not put my dog's life in the hands of the people at Vista. |

If you have ANY other choice, DO NOT go to this hospital. People may think it is okay for day surgeries, etc. but who knows when a simple surgery will turn into a life or death matter. When something goes wrong during or after surgery, Vista Hospital is in NO WAY equipped to handle these matters. I am trying to help, me and my family know from a horrible experience that we are still going through, PLEASE choose another hospital. If we can help even one family or person, then we have made some sort of a difference! |

It is far above than the military hospital that I had stayed in before. Beaumont Army Hospital in Fort Bliss, TX. |

This hospital is outstanding! You are told that the hospital is not in the best of neighborhoods right up front. I was looking for down in the dumps, but never found it. The surrounding neighborhoods I saw were kept up, showing pride in their neighborhood. We stayed overnight in their guest suites, just a regular hospital room with 2 beds. Our overnight stay and meals were free of charge. I was given a private room. The staff made sure we had a room with two beds, because hubby stayed with me. They were as concerned about his well-being and comfort as they were mine. All my husband's meals were free as well. He was well taken care of. I had Nurse Norma during the days and Carolyn at night. I couldn't ask for a better nursing team. If I needed them, they were there. If I asked for meds, they had them right away. Now that I am home I miss them dearly! My surgical nurse was Judi. She was a pleasure. I don't remember all that she did for me, but the talking about her surgery and results from less than a year ago helped me to know this was the right thing for me! I HIGHLY recommend Vista Hospital! |

It's pretty far from my home and doesn't look like much from the outside but the only types of surgeries performed at Vista Hospital are bariatric so they know what to anticipate and how to handle. |

I haven't had to visit a hospital in years. Considereing the last one was a military hospital, this one was just fine. |

I am not familiar with any other hospitals in the Dallas area so I can't comment about it except to say that compared to other hospitals it was calmer without all the busy activities of s full service hospital. It speciallizes in surgery only |

I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and the facility. Raya, Carolyn and Kitty who attended to me were outstanding and I couldn't ask for any more than they provided. Raya was especially kind and caring. When I checked in Arthur, at the ER did my admitting interview and he was a gem. He has been a bariatric surgery recipient and told me what to expect. He was happy for me that I was going to experience the same procedure he had last year. |

The nursing staff is great. Everyone is very encouraging of your recovery and gives you pep talks. My only complaint was the male night nurse, he was not very personable. Everyone else was attentive and knew how to handle bariatric patients. |

Doesn't look like much on the outside. Even on the inside for that matter. When I first walked in I wondered to myself how it stayed in business. Very small and very quite. After my pre-op lab tests, I went looking around the city. When I came back, there was not 1 car in the parking lot, and no one was up front the registration. |

Everyone from admissions to the nurse who escorted us down to go home was incredible. We felt compassion from the moment we arrived at the hospital. Before going for the surgery I read reviews from this website and did not know what to expect because of a few negative reviews. Needless to say, my family and I were totally satisfied.We were looking for Jaya(nurse) because she got so many rave remarks...but we never saw her...but the nurses we encountered were wonderful...Kristen, Al ,and several others...highly recommend having surgery here. |

Very personable......ask for JAYA...i'm not sure thats how you spell her name but look in the other reviews and you'll see her name all over! she is amazing and really does have a heart for her patients and want her patients to be healthy and comfortable!! :) When you get over the nausea, you'll LOVE the hospital! |

The staff that cared for me before, during and after the surgery was excellent. The anesthesiologist was wonderful and explained everything to me. When I told him that I didn't usually tolerate anesth well, he made sure to give me something that would help with nausea and vomitting. All went well.

The overnight stay was miserable I must say but it was free. The room only had 1 bed with an inflatable plastic matress and no pillows or quilts. They had told us that my husband could stay overnight with me but only provided him with a broken recliner. We were issued 2 towels and 2 wash cloths. I'm not really complaining but just stating the facts. It was sparse at best. No one came to check on us once we were shown to the room and no one picked up the meal trays once we were finished with the meals. |

I am certainly glad I have other choices in the area for a hospital because I would definately drive several miles out of my way not to use this one. |

I did not have a good experience, however the staff for the most part was very nice. This hospital is an older hospital and needs to be updated especially with the money they are collecting on the procedures that are performed. It was expremly frustrating to have to lift my legs up and hold them after surgery because the wheel chair did not have foot rests. I also was very concerned that the nurse I had kept pushing my pain pump after my surgery even though I did not need the medication. I was so doped up that I could not function. I would not ever go back to this facility. |

It's old and out of date aesthetically but it has what you need. The surgeons need a large lounge because one was using the patient waiting room for a lounge. That made a lot of family members uncomfortable. |

Even though the hospital is small and a bit older the facilties were very well kept up. But what makes this hospital so special is their staff. You won't ever find a better or more caring staff anywhere. I highly recommend them. |

Oh wow. Well, this is mostly a surgery center, so it's not like other hospitals. It was fantastic! You park right up close, the rooms are all private, you can spend the night before your surgery for free (with a family member/friend, too, who can also stay in your room during your stay as well!). Staff was very considerate. Many have had WLS themselves. |

I loved my stay at Vista Hospital. It was very private and comfortable. I can't say enough good things about this hospital. They feed your family, even have private rooms for them to sleep in. All of the staff was exceptional. If you have your surgery at Vista hopefully you will be lucky enough to have Jaya for you nurse..she is wonderful!! And look for Kitty she is a sweetie!! |

I was so comfortable having my surgery at Vista, and would highly recommend it to anyone. With all of the staff infection concerns that you hear about these days, it is very comforting and reassuring to be having your surgery at a hospital with no "sick" people. All of the procedures at Vista are elective, so you can rest easily there. The staff was amazing, and it was overall a great experience. |

Overall, it was a good experience. Going to this hospital they have a nutrition staff that talks with you and further educate you on about eating. They loaded me up with vitamins, liquid, chewable vitamins, and protein samples. After my surgery the nutritionist spoke with me (though I was doped up pretty bad). But I appreciate the education! The nurse and the CNA were friendly and helpful. So really though its basically a surgery hospital, they took good care of me. |

Seems this is really an outpatient type Surgery Center, formerly a full service Medical Center. It's a little daunting at first to drive and see no cars in the front, but it was nice to be able to park in the back and go right in to the group who would be taking care of you. Everyone was extremely cordial. The first person I met was 'Rick' who was an anesthesiologist and we had a great little chat before anyone else arrived. I really appreciated that he didn't seem to think too highly of himself and separate himself from the patients the way many doctors often do. Nice guy, nice experience overall.

Excellent, There was one nurse that had a phobia against fat acceptance. She worked 7p-7a 8/22/07. She made several remarks about you bet not fall, cause I cannot pick you up. She said it several times. I was just awakening from surg. very foggy. I had my surgery late at night, like 9pm. I don't know her name but, man Now that I am awake I would love to tell her to go to Hell. She should be fired, she does work for Bariatric patients. I was very offened by her comments and thinks she needs some sensitive lessons. I am going to let Dr. Barker know who she is. I hope the HR person there reads this, and writes her up at least. |

Well I WAS overweight and very embarased and scared to be seen getting this surgery I had a friend get Very infected at a BIG name Dallas hospital. I called around this is the only hospital I found with 0 infections. I also found out this hospital only does elective surgeries. So no normal sick people would be around. I also found out it was private had free parking had 24 hour doctors on site and the hospital would let my family stay on the same floor as me for FREE this was great as the Bypass procedure is very involved. Well This hospital was great. I was not scared nor unhappy. Everyone was nice. Down to Earth this hospital has a small town setting. I was not a number but a name. Very Private! Free PArking I give them a 10 becuase they cared. |

I think that it is a good hospital. I had a hard time with the day nurses but I survived.I think the world of the night nurse ms. carolyn she was- is a true blessing. |

The hospital staff was the nicest people. I think they got their job based on personality. From the surgeons, to the maintence man fixing the light in the hallway when I was walking were all so nice and helpful. |

| I spoke to people who had the surgery in the waiting room of my doctor and was told about the botique hospital with a private setting and no sick people so I investigated and went for a tour and to my knowledge this is the nicest cleanest place! The rep. from Hospital Business Concepts was very helpful! |

The major hospitals have sick people everywhere very high rate of infection. The nurses are older and are better trained than other center I visited and all the do is obesity surgery and orthopedic surgery so they know there stuff. |

By far, the best hospital stay I have ever had. The staff was very responsive to my needs and made me feel like I was their only patient. They were equally as sensative to my husband's needs - making sure he got dinner, had a comfortable place to sleep and so on. Just a great hospital! |

When I went in the night prior to my surgery, their "admissions" (which was the ER) was almost completely empty. There appeared to be but the one nurse who admitted me there. I felt uneasy. Once in my room, a very nice doctor came to check me out. Very very nice and comforting doctor.
.... after my surgery I developed complications. When I went back to their ER, they seemed to not really "know" what to do with me. They sent me to Presbyterian as soon as they could! That was a major blow.... |

Vista Hospital was FAR SURPERIOR to my experience with Methodist Hospital in Dallas and Arlington Memorial Hospital. I actually feared for my life in Methodist Hospital due to a nursing shortage and incompetent nursing staff. |

Vista Hospital is EXCELLENT! I was treated with respect, in a very efficient and caring manner, from the time I walked into the building until the time I was placed in my car to go home. I was able to relax and know that I was being well taken care of. I highly recommend Vista Hospital of Dallas!! |
