When I first met with Thaemert, I knew that when I had surgery that I would be in GREAT hands and I sure was!! His office staff are great and he is an awesome doctor! I am so glad he did my surgery and I had complete trust in him. He told me the risks and what to expect after surgery so I wasnt bomb barded with information after surgery that I didnt already know. He has changed my life forever and I am grateful!! Posted on 08/13/2007 |

WOW...so far I am super impressed. Dr. Thaemert was very friendly and extremely helpful. He took time to explain everything I wanted to talk about. He also did a good job covering the risks of surgery. Dr. Thaemert even knew details about my insurance provider that were helpful. This was only my first consult, but I think I am going to be very happy with my choice.
On my second consult he spent a lot of time with me. I had a HUGE LIST of questions and he answered EVERY one of them. He listened to me. He encouraged me when I needed to be encouraged and also cautioned me when I needed to be cautioned. He wasn't afraid to call me on the carpet a bit and I respect that!
I am 100% impressed with this man. He is gentle, yet firm, confident and knowledgeable. WLS is his... [Click here for more] BAG or perhaps I should say his POUCH! Anyway, it's his focus. Of all the doctors he works with, he is the one that has performsthe most WLS surgeries.
I am more than comfortable with this choice. I am actually AT PEACE about it and that speaks volumes.
Would I recommend Dr. Thaemert: ABSOLUTELY YES!!

My first impression of Dr. Thaemert was that
he was so young. But I figured since he was
the Head of Surgery at McKennen he must be good. After talking to him about the surgery, I knew he was very knowledgable and felt totally comfortable with him doing the surgery. He is very caring and I would recommend him to anyone. Posted on 04/02/2005 |

First impression was young & good looking. Wasn't sure if he much experience in the surgerybut found ou that he had 250 so far that year{9/15/03}. The staff has been great, very nice & helpful. A few people have ask me who did my surgery & I have recommmended him to them. There is a lot of after care with him & a specialist who checks your blood work for the firt 2 years. You have to several diffenet meetings & get a book about the surgery & the risks. I think he is a real good doctor & knows he stuff even tho he is younger the most of the rest in thsi area. Both surgical competence & bedside manner are important. Posted on 08/10/2004 |

My first impression is he is young but that does not bother me I feel like he must have had the latest instruction so should be up to date. He is head of surgery at Avera Sioux Falls and does a lot of lap procedures. He was very straight forward about the risks and answered all my questions the first time. I go back again soon I will get more impressions then. Posted on 11/08/2003 |
