First Impression was a very good one, he was to the point without making me feel like crap for being so big, he made me feel very proud of myself for seeking help, it was very important to him that I understood what I was getting into and all the risk that was involved he even took time to sit with me and go over how the surgery was done and what he expected from me once surgery was done and over emphasizing the importance of aftercare and how closly he would follow me after surgery. His office staff and nurses were the BEST, very helpful and friendly. On a scale of 1-10 I give him and his staff a 20. Posted on 09/08/2004 |

I met Dr. Terry April 1st for my first consultation. I was hoping to visit Dr. Fry but his schedule was so full that I altered my request. I figure that since there are only 3 doctors in Albuquerque who perform this surgery and all work out of the same office, the choice would not be bad. Dr. Terry was to the point. I am an emotional person and I felt she tried to look beyond that and focused on explainations which I definately appreciated, she was to the brief and exacting. The only thing that left me feeling a little worried is that she is the newest member to this excellent team and has performed about 45 of these surgeries. This concerned me a little and I will visit with her again on this on our 2nd visit, however she does seem very competent. She stressed the risks of the... I met with Dr. Tan beacuse MY previous Surgeon and Hospital did not work Out, Thanks another story. I had a very short window in which I could have the surgery and his Office worked with my Insurance Company, PCP, and myself wonderfully. He made sure I knew about the suregry and the risk. He was however supportive and very upbeat both things are needed with WLS. In my opinion only crazy people rush and want someone to cut on them. He made sure I have a Psyh, Sleep study, and he had a full history before confirming a Surgery date. His Office staff seem helpful and the Office was a rather relaxed place. He also stress the importance of after care.Because of the teamwork in his Office, PCP I was able to reschedule my surgery which was cancelled on the day of my surgery Monday Dec 9th... [Click here for more] to one week later at a differnt hospital and different Dr. Tan a week later. It does not work any bether than that. I hoping the surgery goes as well.
