Dr. Sanborn is an AMAZING physician. I was initially scheduled with another surgeon and in the military you pretty much have to take what you can get. Due to some unforseen circumstances, Dr. Sanborn took my case. He was remarkably caring and understanding and truly seemed to care right from the start. He went out of his way to do my surgery on a week when he had not planned to do any RNYs. When I had difficulty adjusting to luquid medication after the procedure, he was right there to help me through it which truly inspired confidence. I'd recommend him to anyone in the military community. I just hope the Army can hold onto him. We need to keep the great ones!    Posted on 06/02/2008

I love Dr. Sanborn and his nurse Sandra they are so great. Dr Sanborn is caring and Sandra you can't ask for a more caring nurse. You feel like she means what she says. That you are her client forever and she will be there for any question you might have. So far so good.    Posted on 12/15/2007

Chris Sanborn and his staff are the most professional and easy going, they ensure each and every patient are put first and are educated in every aspect of their surgery. The Bariatric Nurse Sandra is the most outstanding supporter She attends and conducts a bi Monthly RNY support Group meeting and interacts with each of us on a personal and professional level. We love her and she interns gives us the tools to love our RNY . But without fail we all ended up loving her. Sandra and Chris are the YENG and YANG that make a surgical team successful. Too bad we can't share them with the rest of the world. The Army has them for now.    Posted on 11/21/2007

He is a fantastic Doctor! He listened to me when I had concerns before the surgery. He made sure there was time to talk when I came to see him. He went out of his way to help me when I had post-op problems. He visited me everyday in the hospital, and talked to me in a non-hurried fashion. He worked me into his schedule when I needed to see him for emergency care. He is an extremely competant Doctor, very knowledgeable and knows his stuff. The only complaint I had with him was that he had so many surgeries so often that when I had to be readmitted it was sometimes hard to get ahold of him to find out what to do. They had to reach him in the OR a lot of the time. He is a Major in the Army, so he's not in it for the money, but he does make sure you've thought about the alternatives... [Click here for more]

My first impression of him was very impressive. He was giving a class about the pros and cons of the surgery. He was very open and appeared to be honest. I signed up for the surgery and he worked with me to get the surgery done. After surgery and the hospital stay, I began having problems with my incision site. It began draining. This has happened 3 times. On one occassion, he was in on his day off and took a look at me to make sure I was ok. I was very impressed with that action. I have seen him several times in the past 6 weeks and doesn't seem to be bothered by this. Thank God! The receptionist up front took some time to warm up to, but turned out to be a nice lady. The staff seem to be friendly but only at times. But over all, Dr Sanborn is a nice man and seems to really care... [Click here for more]

My first impression of Dr. Sanborn was "Hello, Ray Liotta!" Just kidding, it is a running joke around here that he is one doctor who is definitely soft on the eyes! So far, I have had my WLS class and my first consultation appointment with him. Dr. Sanborn seems extremely nice and supportive. He appears to have enough experience with WLS needed to put you at ease. He conducts a very informative Q&A class on WLS before you have your first consultation appointment with him. It is a half hour long power point presentation and afterwards he asks for questions and answers anything we have for him. Dr. Sanborn does require a pre-op checklist covering all necessary tests and multiple visits to the nutritionists and behavioral health, so be prepared for that. However, he does NOT require...
