Dr. Oakley came across as knowledgable, very experienced and committed to the health of his patients. This hasn't changed since. His office staff is friendly and considerate and very practical. I don't have anything negative to say about Dr. Oakley. He does have a structured after care program and he certainly empasizes the importance of maintaining compliance with the program. He was very thorough when addressing the risks and benefits of the surgery. Overall, I give him a 10 out of 10. Surgical competence and bedside manner are both perfect!    Posted on 05/29/2008

I really like Dr. Oakley. He is very direct in answering questions and just gets right to the point. He tells about all the methods of weight loss surgery and what he feels would be the right one for you. I rate him a 10 on a scale of 1-10, very happy with him!    Posted on 05/18/2008

My impression of Dr. Oakley is very concerned and his staff is caring and concerned about you. I think he is interested in you making it to your goal and interest ed if you are willing to concentrate on what is going to happen in the future. He does have a structured aftercare program and also has addressed the risks of surgery. The things that could happen and all surgeries are a risk. I rate him highly and looking forward to his procedure. What is better? I think both is necessary when being a surgeon. I will be having surgery June 2,2008.    Posted on 05/05/2008

Like another lady said about him, HE ROCKS! And its true, I liked him a lot. The staff are angel's sent to this earth to help people like me, the nicest, caring, all around great people. Over all I'd give him a A++.    Posted on 04/28/2008

I had heard many different things from people in regard to Oakley. Some liked him others not so much, but his patients I only heard good things. When I meet him I liked him. The one thing I dont like is that he is not a person who looks you in the eye when he talks to you, but if that is all I dont like then I am good with that. Other than that I really like him. He is good at what he does, very straight forward, and willing to answer any and all questions and that is great. His office staff are all wonderful. No matter how much you bug them they never come across bothered or put out. Jennifer knows her crap when it comes to insurance stuff and knows what you need to get you approved. If you do what she says, it will happen. Oakley does emphasize walking a lot, but he is right.... [Click here for more]

Dr. Oakley has been great to work with. He is a true professional in every sense of the word. He displays a no nonsense approach with a friendly presentation. The office staff are friendly and supportive, making one feel comfortable from the very first contact. He has a comprehensive aftercare program and stresses the benefits of the support group. After attending a couple of support group meetings, I found them to be very important to the process. He was open about what the surgery could and could not do. He stresses that WLS is only a tool and that to maintain any weight loss, one must change eating patterns and exercise daily. Both his surgical competence and bedside manner were highly commendable. He took what I related seriously and did additional tests to ensure that I had... [Click here for more]

I really liked Dr Oakley, and I trust him. He did a good job, and he has a very supportive staff. The head Bariatric Nurse at St. Lukes was great also.    Posted on 10/03/2007

Dr. Oakley is incredible! He spent the time to explain everything I needed to know about the procedure. Took the time to answer all of my questions and spent the necessary time listening to me, my concerns & questions. He was wonderful! I haven't had surgery yet so don't know about aftercare but if his aftercare is anything like his pre-care, he's the best! The staff, especially Jennifer & Alta, are great! Still waiting for approval but I have full faith that they'll do what they can!!    Posted on 09/24/2007

Well i met Dr. Oakley today and honestly he seemed a little arrogant, but he knew what he was talking about and answered all of my questions. He is very esteemed and all i hear are great reviews from him. His staff is amazing they were all so nice and helpful..i am a very picky person when it comes to doctors but he seems to be the best at what he does, and his surgical assistant took my gallbladder out when i was 13 and was a great surgeon and i am glad they are working together    Posted on 06/21/2007

Skinny, thought he would have a mean attitude about obesity like some doctors. As the consultation went along I found him to be very understanding. He understands that overweight problems are also genetic not just bad habits, which I appreciated greatly. He office was very nice. Jennifer is a godsend, she helps with all the insurance stuff. I called and pestered her everyday and she never sounded irratated. She is great. I go in on 6/3/05 for my pre op consult. so will get more info on his aftercare. He was very staightforward with the risk and his complication precentages. I think he will be a great doctor to do this surgery. I've chosen the open DS. 6/7/07 - 2 years out Dr Oakley is great - His bed side manner is awesome. He looked after me and answered... [Click here for more]
