My surgeon was informative, responsive to my needs and questions, and thorough. I was comfortable and confident throughout the process.
Best support staff around - bar none. This is the place to be if obesity and surgery are on your horizon. Well-structured aftercare program with reasonable goals. Staff attemps to accommodate time and distance regarding travel when it comes to appointments. These people are personal, compassionate, warm, and friendly. Posted on 06/27/2007 |

My first impression of Dr Reising was one of respect and admiration. It took no time at all to realize he was in this profession for the health and wellbeing of others. He did not ever make me feel uncomfortable or embarrassed about my weight. He was honest, open, and compassionate. I have had only good thoughts about him and his staff. He is a very skilled man with a wonderful personality and an attitude of excellence. He wants to do what he does well and is very concerned about each person. I will return to him for any further surgeries I need done or will refer my family members to him as well. Dr. Reising has 5 children and I have 7 so it was nice to have a Dr who understood larger families and how things flow in them. Since my surgery he has been encouraging to me and... [Click here for more] taken extra time to answer any questions I have had. He is GREAT!!! My over all rating would have to be an A+++ Update (June 9, 2005): I have now known Dr Reising and his staff for over 15 months and continue to be impressed by him and everyone on his team. Since having the Rou-en-Y he has performed a few other procedures on me and he has been wonderful. He recently refered me to a Plastic Surgeon for abdominoplasty and without a doubt I knew I could trust the choice he presented to me. I told him my 1st choice would be having him perform it, but understood his concern for the cosmetic outcome. Update#2: I am compelled to update on Dr Reising given that he is now associated with a new office and practicing at a different hospital...I have had the pleasure of being a patient of Dr Reisings while he practiced in Stevens Point and now in Wausau. He continues to be one of the best surgeons I have ever come into contact with, competence and bedside manner are far above anything I could expect or imagine. He is wonderful...I recently had a very long stay at Wausau Aspirus Hospital during his transition time to that hospital and it was wonderful. Although he was new there and trying to learn all the ropes that come along with being in a new facility he was always helpful, hopeful, and kept his great personality even though I am sure things could have been very overwhelming to him. The hospital staff had nothing but GREAT things to say about him. I am not sure who is more blessed to have who, him to be with a great group of surgeons practicing at a wonderful hospital, or them to have him; it would be hard to find a better partner for Surgical Associates.

When I first met Dr. Reising I thought he was awfully young to be a surgeon. But then I heard about how many surgeries he had done and how successful they've been (that was reassuring). I also thought that having a younger doctor would have its benefits such as; good/excellent vision, steady hands, and accuracy. The office staff was wonderful, always complimenting me on how good I look at each visit. That really helped my confidence level!
This surgery should NOT be taken lightly. It is a last resort if all else fails.
Dr. Reising is an excellent surgeon, he helped me when I had lost all hope. He is very caring and concerned for all of his patients, I know this from my own experience and by talking to others from our support group. I would highly recommend him to anyone. Posted on 05/30/2006 |

Dr. Reising actually performed an emergency appendectomy for me about two years ago and I was TREMENDOUSLY impressed with the care I received. Having never been in a hospital nor undergone any sort of surgical procedure, I was extremely nervous. His demeanor put me at ease the moment I met him. Many others have commented on his young age, but I was relieved to have a doctor close to my own age. I found him very easy to talk to and extremely knowledgable. And, I blush to admit it, I had a little crush on him by the time I was out of the hospital!
I have a relative who is contemplating a bariatric procedure and I noticed Dr. Reising's name while doing some research for her online. I would not hesitate to recommend him for any procedure. His competence combined with a high... [Click here for more] level of empathy make him a terrific surgeon.

My first impression of Dr. Reising was that he was very knowledgeable and was very interested and concerned about his patients.
My impression of him never really changed. He is still very interested on how I am doing and concerned over anything that concerns me and will work with me to find the answer if he doesn't already know it.
The office staff is great. They have always been very helpful and are also very knowledgeable in the procedure and before and aftercare.
There isn't anything that I didn't like about him, but like all doctors, sometimes they get ahead of you and forget you don't understand all their "terms".
Future patients should know that he is a very caring and concerned doctor. He is young, but that is a plus because this is his speciality and he is... [Click here for more] up on everything that is new.
He emphasis on aftercare is remarkable. He schedules follow up visits quite frequently and the office is always open to questions in-between appointments. They have all been wonderful.
He was very upfront and honest about the risks, both before and after surgery and he wants to make sure that you understand all of them.
I would rate him a 10 out of a 10. I had NO complications and he has been very caring and concerned after the surgery.
I guess if I had to choose one, it would be surgical competence, but his bedside manner is good too, so I guess I am going to say that they are both great. The bedside manner of a surgeon is not the same as a "family doctor," but that doesn't not mean it is a bad bedside manner, it is just different than a family doctor. Even with that said, he is a lot better than some family doctors that I have had. He is just GREAT!!!

Doctor Reising is a very caring doctor. He and his staff answered all my questions and some I never asked. I have call with questions, Bonnie and Parker Kelly have returned my calls promtly with answers. I would recommend all patients to go to the support group meetings before surgery and after. Dr. Reising does tell you the risks right from the beginning. This surgery is not easy. After surgery it only the beginning of a life style change. Dr. Reising and his staff is there for you always. I don't have any regret of choosing Dr. Reising or his staff or St.Micheal's hospital for having surgery. Posted on 08/07/2005 |

Dr Reising was very suportive and encouraging. I have nothing negative to say about him. He strongly emphasised follow up with a diatician and appointments are scheduled and coordinated at the office. The office is highly involved in the support group meetings.
I would rate him and his staff highly, and strongly recomend them. I felt comfortable with his surgical competence and his bedside manor. Posted on 06/14/2005 |

Dr. Reising is terrific! He is extremely knowledgable and very very nice! In fact, everyone that I have worked with at Saint Michael's and Rice Clinic in Stevens Point has been wonderful. Bonnie, Parker, and Michelle were all great to work with! I do not have a single negative thing to say about my experience thus far. Everyone has been very open about the risks of surgery and the potential benefits. They want you to know and understand what you are getting yourself into. I would give everyone that I have met with thus far two thumbs up or a 10 out of 10! I hope everything continues to go as smoothly as it has up to now. I have surgery on July 14. My first impression was that he was so young. My impression of him did change over time after I talked with some of his other patients in group and how positive their experiences were with their surgeon. I would my surgeon's office staff as very caring and wonderful. They take time with their patients. Any questions or concerns any patients have are answered immediately. I can't think of anything I don't like about my surgeon. He has alot of empathy for his patients. My surgeon does have a structured aftercare program. They make sure my vitamin levels are ok everytime I go to see my doctor. The dietician also follows up with the patient after surgery for a long time. She is there if there are any diet concerns or questions. My surgeon addressed the risks of my surgery very... [Click here for more] well. I was told about the risks about 5 different times from more than just the surgeon. I would rate him as a wonderful surgeon and would recommend him to anyone that needed surgery. I would have to say that surgical competence and bedside manner go hand in hand.
