Dr. McBride and Dr. Goede both did my surgery, but I only saw Dr. Goede in the office and hospital. I actually work in the OR that they do the surgery. I love them both! They are the nicest surgeons! There office staff is wonderful too! Sue does the approval/insurance work. She was soo prompt in returning calls and was so great to interact with. Then Melissa and Linda are the Nurses that work with you to get you ready and answer all of your questions. Emily is the P.A. and is so gental and pleasant. She does the first office visit and does the medical examination. I have been blown away with the care that I have recieved by them! They truely care and have your best intrest at heart! She was great. In her original appointment with me, she did not sugar coat anything. She told me what she recommended for me to get which was different than what I wanted to get. I like the office staff. I was a little disappointed after I had the baby that no one followed up with me. They also will NOT check up on you if they have not heard from you for awhile. I found that kind of strange. I have been banded going on 2 years now and I need to get back in to see her. Posted on 01/17/2008 |

Dr. McBride and her staff make a wonderful team! Everyone has been very thorough, making sure every detail has been taken care of.
Dr. McBride made sure we'd gone over every potential risk associated with the surgery, plus some specific risks I faced due to being on blood thinners.

She is very good at what she does, but I can honestly say I only met her for 10 minutes at my pre-op appt. She answered my questions and was easy to talk to. During post op though I had an host of residents/other docs come to see me. Most of which I hadn't met before. Some were very frank and to the point, others that lingered and made me felt comfortable with my understandings and choices.
I ended up having mixed messages and RX's druing checkout and thus ended up going home without a reflux RX, that I was told is standard.
She had knowledgeable staff who handle everything for her and Melissa M. You rock and are quick to the punch when I needed you.
You'll get excellent care, just don't expect to really see the surgeon. Posted on 10/22/2007 |

I liked her immediately. The only thing that changed was that everytime I saw her, I liked her more and felt very confident with my selection. Her staff is wonderful! They treat you like they really care.
Aftercare is stressed. I have been twice so far and it's been six weeks. I go in another six weeks than six months and then one year.

Dr. McBride was very easy to talk to. She made me feel that she would take her time to answer all my questions. The staff is friendly. At first I had trouble with them not returning calls, but that seemed to resolve. One of her associates saw me daily, so I did not actually see her after surgery. She found a hiatal hernia which turned out to be hard to repair. I feel she did a good job. I have had little pain, and no problems at all.

I think Dr. McBride and the entire staff at the UNMC are wonderful. I would sugest them to anyone. Dr. McBride is fabulous. She is both helpful and kind. Her Nurse Melissa is a God send for me. As is her PA Christa. They aided me in making an informed decision and in getting me a surgery date. I feel like they have taken care of me as if I was a good friend or even relative. Everyone has gone above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. I did have a small issue during surgery and Dr. McBride and Christa took care of it . No questions asked and no problems. In the hospital Her chief resident and other residents took care of me. All the Nurses and the Residents and the Doctors at the hospital were wonderful. I have never had a better hospital stay.
