Dr. Stewart is a very quiet man. He is kind and helpful. Willing to take time to talk if you have any questions. I love the office staff. They are all so friendly and always have a smile on their face when you visit. They are all very professional. rnrnDr. Stewart and his staff have an excellent program. Their after care program is terrific. There are many opportunities to get any information you may need. Either through their classes or using their support class they have every month.rnrnI would definitely recommend Dr. Stewart and his staff. Posted on 02/08/2010 |

I decided to use Dr. Stewart as my surgeon to have the Duodenal Switch after I was already scheduled to have an RNY with another local surgeon. I am so glad that I switched instead of settled. Dr. Stewart had test run that the previous surgeon had not and found some additional issues that were taken care of at the time of my DS. Dr.Stewart is direct and honest and I really appreciate that in a doctor. I dont need hand holding but I need skill and knowledge of which he has plenty and he does answer any questions you may have. I liked how he was unbiased about every surgery and gave the straight facts about risk and rewards of each and lets the patients choose what is right for them. I am THRILLED with my DS and my results so far. I would have never been able to do this without Dr.... [Click here for more] Stewart and my DS and I am very thankful! I would rate Dr.Stewart as an excellent surgeon! I believe that surgical competence is vastly more important than a rainbow bedside manner. After all at the end of the day I dont need an imaginary pot of gold but what I need is success. Dr. Stewart has that... an excellent record of success.

My surgeon is Dr. Daryl Stewart, Denton Tx
on first impression of him he is a very quiet sort of man. very knowledgable and thorough.
He doesn't seem to laugh much, but I did get him to chuckle a couple of times! As I also work in the surgical area, I can relate a bit with the personalities of the surgeons, we are all a bit strange in one way or another LOL.
His office staff try to be nice, they just need to work on more customer relations better. Sue his PA and assistant is Wondeful! Keeps him in line.
If you are looking for a feel good, pat you on the back kind of Dr with super bedside manners,he is not that. He is however very nice, pleasent, but most of all his surgical competence is great.! That is the most important part, SKILLED in his line of work, especially revisions.... [Click here for more] There is a structured aftercare program, Now some does pertain to DS, there for a while it still had too much leaning to RNY. They have now revamped and have a separate program for DS patients.
I am most pleased I chose Dr. Stewart, have been well cared for and feel he did a great job, removing my band was rough, as it had formed a calcium seal on the suture lines on the sternum, but it is SUCH a relief to have that gone!.. Now I can begin to live a normal life again!!

My first impression of Dr. Stewart was of a dedicated doctor. He is quiet, thoughtful and sincere. His staff are friendly and helpful. Since I had the duodenal switch I delt with Sue mostly and she is completely competent and knowledgeable. She is an intrigal part of the DS experience as she does the after care classes for the DS patients. Dr. Stewart is dedicated to aftercare and expects his patients to be also. At the semminar I attended, he was straight forward about the risks of surgery. I would recommend him to anyone. Posted on 12/17/2009 |

I first met Dr. Stewart at his informational seminar. He impressed me because, he wanted to make sure I had information on ALL of my choices for WLS so I could make the best decision for ME. I have since had my one on one consult and he made sure all my questions were answered and has specific structured guidelines. Being a nurse, I asked if I could get out of the hospital "early" (3 night stay) but he reinforced there is a reason that he does things a certain way and to do it differently would not be wise. Guess that is why he is the doctor! I have complete faith in Dr. Stewart and the procedure I have chosen = DS.rnI liked how Hayley updated weights here SO I am borrowing her idea! Dr. Stewart is a man who emphatically understands obesity. Future patients should know that he is a top notch surgeon who performs all the various WLS. Additionally, his DS patients have had remarkable successes. I cannot recommend the importance of doing your research before having surgery--"think twice and cut once." I owe Dr. Stewart my life; I am forever indebted to him. rnrnThank you Dr. Stewart for using your talent to change people's lives. Posted on 10/13/2009 |

In the process of changing surgeons from Dr. Barker to Dr. Stewart.
Nothing negative to say about Dr. Barker, he just did not do the surgery I wanted to do.
Dr. Stewarts office is calmer and more relaxing. Did not feel like a number there at all. Dr. Stewart took his time with me to make sure I understood the risks of surgery, and he explained to me how it would be done. He explained the comments I received from Dr. Barker regarding my pyloric stenosis history and what that would mean during the surgery. He addressed the risks of surgery.
His insurance coordinator, Leah, is awesome. She has quite calmly put up with my panicy self. Think she has figured me out. :)
Do not have information about other issues yet. Will update after my surgery.
Please note that the... [Click here for more] above is strictly my opinions and observations.

Dr. Stewart is quiet, and doesn't say much, but personable and VERY knowledgeable about all the bariatric surgeries, and seems to tend to favor the lap DS. rnThe office staff is kind and very helpful and supportive. rnWhat I least liked about Dr. Stewart was the fact that he is so quiet and mild mannered, and future patients should be ready to get most of their information from his staff. (He is a surgeon ya know, not a family practitioner.) rnAftercare so far has been fine, and there is a good support group as well.rnThe risks of surgery were addressed beforehand and several times up to surgery date.rnI would rate my experience with Dr. Stewart and his staff as 9 out of ten. (just about exemplary) His bedside manner is not all "Hey, let's be friends and stuff." but at the same... [Click here for more] time he is not rude by any stretch, and his surgical competency is exemplary.
