Dr. Daryl Stewart is a superior surgeon who really seems to care about his patients well being. He is very quiet which doesn't exactly match my personality, but this is the same way with my PCP. I chose a SMART, No-Nonsense surgeon for his skills.
The office staff has been most helpful-if a little busy and scattered at times.
Dr Stewart strictly enforces aftercare and is concerned about my success and has a structured aftercare program as well as having office staff being available at all times for questions.
And I would have to say his surgical competence is the BEST and his bedside manner is pleasant.
I would not hesitate to recommend this surgeon to anyone! Posted on 05/06/2009 |

I first met Dr. Stewart at his informational seminar. He impressed me because, he wanted to make sure I had information on ALL of my choices for WLS so I could make the best decision for ME. I have since had my one on one consult and he made sure all my questions were answered and has specific structured guidelines. Being a nurse, I asked if I could get out of the hospital "early" (3 night stay) but he reinforced there is a reason that he does things a certain way and to do it differently would not be wise. Guess that is why he is the doctor! I have complete faith in Dr. Stewart and the procedure I have chosen = DS.
I liked how Hayley updated weights here SO I am borrowing her idea! GOAL @ 6 months to loose 100 lb total!

Dr. Stewart did my DS Jan 7, 2009. He and his staff are wonderful people. This was my 3rd WLS, and he was very supportive during the whole process. My surgery took longer than normal, but I came through wonderfully. I would recommend Dr. Stewart to anyone looking for WLS. Posted on 01/26/2009 |

My first impression of Dr. Stewart was that he was a nice guy. After consulting with him and our encounters in the hospital I found him to be not only a nice guy but, also a good doctor. I felt safe. The staff is extremely helpful and knoledgeable. Leah is the best and a sweeheart too. There were not any dislikes for me, my experience has been wonderful. Any future patient should know that Dr. Stewart is straight to the point and gets right to it. He makes you feel safe. Aftercare is considered crucial in their practice. I have heard an enumerous amount of time how critical it is to be diligent in your aftercare. They do have structured aftercare. All risks of surgery are discussed and you are asked at every opportunity "Do you have any questions?" I would rate Dr. Stewart on a scale... [Click here for more] of 1 - 10 at an 8. Only because 10 would seem so over the top. His surgical competence stands out the most. His beside manner is no joke just straight to the point. I liked needed to feel safe more than I needed to feel he liked me.

Dr. Stewart is a no nonsense type guy, who has been accused of being gruff or insensitive. The fact is, he is a down to earth person whose only goal is to help his patients obtain the bridge to there weight loss goal, not to hold their hands and "baby" them through the process. He performed RNY on my wife about 6 years ago and has performed other procedures on friends and coworkers as well, and always with great results. While he is certainly no Patch Adams, he is certainly great at what he does, and always professional. Posted on 11/24/2008 |

First impression of Dr Stewart is that he knew what he was talking about. His office staff was informative and new my next step before I did. There is nothing that I can say I did not like about Dr. Stewart. Rumor has had it that he never smiles but that is not true. He even laughs. I find that he is a very serious person and takes his job serious thank God he has important work to do. He does stress aftercare and address all the risks of the surgery. Surgical competence is #1 bedside manner is the frosting on the cake. Together are fantastic and I am glad I chose Dr Stewart. Posted on 11/22/2008 |

My first impression of Dr. Stewart is a good one! I first met him at his informational seminar in August 2008. He is very educated on bariatric surgery and I feel confident in my selection. Although he seems very strict and informative, his knowledge and experience outweigh his bedside manner in my opinion. Surgical competence is better for sure! The director of the program, Leah, is wonderful. She has reassured me and helped me through this long process. I would definately recommend him to anyone who is thinking of having WLS. I attended one of Dr. Stewart's siminars in the Fall of 2007. Found it very informative. Had my first appointment with Dr. Stewart in December 2007. He took lots of time to answer all my questions. Helped me choose between the lap band and gastric bypass. I had gastric bypass done on March 12, 2008. The recovery went very smoothly. I can honestly say, I was never in any pain. Sore/achy ... flu like symptoms ... but never in any pain. Stopped taking pain medicine the second day I was home and never needed to take it again. Now 6 months out, I am doing well. Down 105 lbs.
