Additional Experience:  Having been in practice since 1991, I have been involved in the development of Advanced Laparoscopic techniques. Including stomach, small intestine, and colon surgeries. Dr. Lauter’s training in surgery at the University of Washington
and the University of California at San Diego included training in
bariatric surgery and open Roux-Y gastric bypass.

Dr. Lauter has performed over one thousand advanced
laparoscopic procedures including laparoscopic stomach,
small intestine,and large intestine surgeries.
He was the sole institutional investigator in the state of Washington
in a national trial of laparoscopic colon surgery for colon
cancer sponsored by the National Cancer Institute. Beginning in 1999.

Dr. Lauter worked with Group Health Permanente surgeons in developing
a program for laparoscopic bariatric surgery at Group Health Cooperative
of Puget Sound. Since that time, the program has performed over
one hundred laparoscopic Roux-Y gastric bypasses.
