My first impression was he is very nice but strict and that is what I needed also very experienced my impression has not changed the staff at lahey in burlington is second to none havint to lose 34 lbs lol before surgery if he says something listen to him he is not kidding all over the aftercare if you do not follow directions after you will just be wasting your time and you will failthe most structured aftercare program that I have ever seen they told me the truth he is tops on my list I believe both are equally important Posted on 09/09/2008 |

He is great. He has a good personality, and really cares about his patients.
Of course no one is perfect. I just haven't run into anything bad, yet. Other than having to go back and forth to Burlington all the time.
If you are still searching for a surgeon, definatley consider Dr Brams or his associate Dr Nepomnayshy. They really Care
Aftercare is stressed. Everything from follow up appointments to support group requirements.
The Informational meeting they require you to attend to start the process is super. Not only is it full of information, but they give you a folder with print outs of every item they show you on the powerpont presentation. There is a Q & A segment with the doctor as well as with a few people that have had the surgery. Posted on 03/26/2007 |

These are my personal impressions of my experience and that I am making no statements about what other people may experience...
Q - What was your first impression of him?
A - Very informative and and passionate about helping obese patients
Q - How did your impression change over time?
A - It hasn't.
Q - How would you describe his office staff?
A - They are fantastic! Great program very well thought out and educated staff. Pam, Tonya and Leslie are the best!
Q - What did you like least about him?
A - He can come across as being distant and very direct. If you are a deeply emotional person you might find his style might put you off. It didn't for me but it did for a friend who felt he didn't understand her emotional needs. Personally I'd prefer a Doc who is the best... [Click here for more] at the surgery and his staff can stroke my ego later.
Q - What should future patients know about him?
A - Come prepared and educate yourself. Put in an equal amount of dedication and passion and he will do the same.
Q - How much does he emphasize aftercare?
A- Very much, the program is excellent and the first time I ever heard him speak (in the info session) he STRESSED that after care is for life. That was big selling point for me.
Q - Does he have a structured aftercare program?
A - Yes, very well thought out. Includes nutrition and behavioral modification.
Q - How did he address the risks of surgery?
A - Openly with great candor.
Q - How would you rate him overall?
A - Excellent on a scale of 1 - 10 a 9. I had an issue immediatly following surgery that he was not aware of due to the staff not telling him.
Q - Which is better, surgical competence, bedside manner, or are both great?
A - Both are a good balance. Neither one detracts from the other.Which was another key selling point for me. But like I said I prefer a doc who is competent and maybe a little light in the bedside warm and fuzzies than a super friendly Doc who maybe doesn't have the surgical accumen.

I love Dr Brams and his office staff. They are all very supportive and knowledgable. The aftercare is very good and while some people have told me that their doctor was not as strict as Dr Brams was, I would prefer the close supervision as opposed to a Dr. that was not as involved in his patients care.
I felt very safe with him operating on me and would refer him in a heartbeat to anyone in the Boston area. Or out of the area for that matter. I drive almost 2 hrs to get to his office. He is very willing to answer any and al questions that you may have and I neve felt rushed at any of my appointments with him or his nurse practitioner or the dietician. Posted on 07/08/2006 |

My first impression of Dr. Brams is that he was a reserved man - intelligent, caring, warm, like an old friend. Over time, my impression of him did not change other than, I really think he understands what his patients feel about weight, surgery and aftercare. His office staff were wonderful. Karen - though a bit hard to get a hold of is amazing and nice. There was nothing that I didn't like about Dr. Brams. Lahey has a structured aftercare program that is very important to be part of. Dr. Brams, saved my life. Posted on 01/14/2006 |

I met with my surgeon Dr. Brams of Lahey Clinic in Bermuda on 10 July 2004, for my first consultation. Dr. Brams was very friendly with a caring personality, he explained everything in detail about the surgery.
He answered my questions very honestly and openly regarding the risk factors, and I felt comfortable talking to him. Lahey has a very structured program before and after. He also emphasised the importance of aftercare. Posted on 08/27/2004 |

I found Dr. Brams to be compassionate, honest and willing to inform of all the possible risks. The staff they are all caring and willing to listen to any concerns you may have. Dr. Brams and staff explain after care and what is expected from you and what you can expect from them in terms of care. Posted on 04/16/2004 |
