I liked him and his staff. He had just ended his term at Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas to start his own practice in Denton. It is a brand new practice and they are getting things setup. I had investegated him from 2001 on because a friend had his gastric by pass than with Dr.Provost. I had my first appointment with him on Sept 1, 2008, my preop consultation on Sept. 9, and my surgery on Sept. 11, 2008 and my post op visit on Sept,22! It has been a very busy 22 days for me!    Posted on 09/23/2008

Doctor Provost saved my life. Really Not just because I was fat. I had some major stomach problems and he was the only doctor in the DALLAS/FORT WORTH area that would take my case. If he had not done the surgery when he did I would not be here today. This man is awesome. I now have a life I am looking forward to each and every day. THANK YOU DOCTOR DAVID PROVOST    Posted on 07/09/2008

Dr. Provost was nice when we first met. One thing I didn't like was I only saw him once and that was over 6-7 months ago. I'm going to have surgery in a few days and I have yet to see and talk to him since then. I guess that's how they run things. His office has several other doctors working in it as well so you build a relationship more with a regular general doctor and the nurses and assistants more than Dr. Provost himself. They are all nice in the office everything is "fat friendly". All the dietians and nutritionist are very thin! Most of them wear 6 inch heels...and it feels weird that they talk to you about eating healthy when your fat and they aren't. But they are nice and don't judge at all. He does require all patients to see a nutritionist at the beginning and if your... [Click here for more]

First Impression: Very informative, and seemed to generally care about my needs and concerns. My impression stayed the same he was very considerate of my feelings and took excellent care of my during my hospital stay. His office staff can best be described as WONDERFUL!!! Everyone is so friendly and really know what they are talking about. Future patients should know hes a great doctor and very willing to answer any questions you might have... as long as you ask them. He has a very strict and straight forward aftercare program that is very affective. All surgery risks were addressed and explained in detail to me, and due to some health issues we still felt the surgery was needed. Overall I would rate him a 10 hes just great.    Posted on 04/17/2008

I was lucky enough to work for Dr. Provost for a few months off and on in his clinic. I was able to see the good the bad and the ugly walk through his door so when I decided to have surgery, it was a no brainer. He tells every patient he has and I quote, "If you do exactly as I say, you will succeed and if you don't you will fail." He is more of a fatherly figure in that he is honest, straight forward and wants the best for his patient and will fuss at you if you don't follow directions. Granted his patient load is high, but what you expect? He is one of the best! He works with a group of about 3-4 other doctors who are actually all equally good but I chose Provost because that is who I was most comfortable with and I don't regret a thing! Best to all seeking surgery!    Posted on 04/03/2008

Dr Provost is the best. The long wait to see him is worth it's weight in gold. He is to the point and kind. His medical expertise is top of the line. I would rate hime 10/10. He did my RNY surgery in 2002. I would have not had any other doctor    Posted on 09/06/2007

My surgeon was the best! He was excellent...my first impression was that he was in a bit of a hurry to get through the initial consultation...but he answered every question. I love him...he really cares for the health of his patients...and he is there if you need him. If you need a gb surgeon in the Dallas area...he is the one!    Posted on 08/23/2007

I have read what others have said about Dr. Provost's bedside manner and I personally did not experience what they were saying, He was very kind, friendly, almost jolly to me and he went thru everything, asked me did I have any questions and we talked at length about the procedure, risks, etc. I fell very confident of him doing the procedure. He really stressed to me the importance of aftercare, which I really liked. I guess in order to make sure patients do it, he is giving your first month of aftercare free; so I wont have to pay any copayments for a month! Yippeee!    Posted on 02/08/2007

He was very professional, forward and straight to the point. He explained the procedure, told me the risks and asked if I had any concerns or questions. He puts emphasis on your care after the surgery. All of my visits after the surgery are free. I don't have to make my copays until after a year. This is his way of encouraging his patients to come for their visits...EXCELLENT    Posted on 01/07/2007

First consult was very informative, He lets you know all the risks involved, He is also very "to-the-point", and professional. I am quite happy that he will be my surgeon. I have also talked with Albert about what was needed in my psych eval. letter. He always got back to me very timely. I went on MyChart the other day to update my new meds, new PC Dr, and new diagnosis. I did this by email sending Dr. Provast office my info. Lois got back to me in about an hour. Which I thought has extremely great time. Technology is wonderful, I advice any ppl going through UTsouthwestern to use their My Chart. It probally helps out the Dr.s and nurses also so they have record. Right now I would recommend Dr.provost and his staff to anyone considering WLS I think they are all great. Waiting for...
