He seemed to really care and didnt treat me as if it is all my fault that I cant keep the weight off. He actually sat and listened to what I had to say and explained everything in detail. Dr, Moore was awesome from day one. He hosted the seminar I went to and was so down to earth and real. He explained everything so you could understand and didn't hold back on what could happen. His staff at Tidewater Surgical Specialist was the best. His Nurse Missy has always been on point and her attitude has been nothing but sweet and professional. I think it is great to be able to go to a Drs. office and relax and laugh with the staff. This team is so awesome I have refered 4 patients to them. 2 have had the surgery and are doing great. One has a date for June 2008 and one is just going to the seminars. I think the most important thing to know about this team of surgeons is that they dont stop after surgery they continue to have group support meetings, and the nutritionist... Dr. Moore is a wonderful person and physician. I have the benefit as knowing him on a personal and professional level and have nothing but respect for him.
The Bon Secocurs Surgical Weight Loss program is set up to help there patients succeed with pre op education and post op support. As a physician in the area, I have the benefit of seeing patients from a wide variety of surgeons and have no doubt that those from Bon Secours have more support and that leads to more success in the long run. I really like Dr. Moore and his support staff. They have all been very helpful and supportive at every level so far. My first impression of Dr. Moore was that he was very sincere. He spoke frankly and did not sugar-coat anything, which I like. The office staff at the Surgical Weight Loss Center is wonderful. They've all been so helpful. Quick to return calls, answering questions, and being very positive. Initially, I did have a set back with getting all the required paperwork together and I sorta got the feeling I was being pushed to the back burner because I couldn't get a date. But, when I spoke up and said "I want a date", that it will help me motivate myself a little more so that I feel like I have a first goal in place, I got my date. And now, my paperwork is on it's... Future patients might like to know that Dr. Moore has a wonderful nature about him. He is sincere and very caring. Aftercare is a very important factor in the WLS's guidelines. A structure aftercare network and program is in place for after the surgery, but, patients or prospective patients are encouraged to become involved post-surgery as well.
The risks of surgery were discussed frankly and truthfully. As were the risks of not having the surgery.
I believe everyone has the potential for improvement no matter how "good, great" they are at what they do, so, I would rate Dr. Moore at a strong 9 on a 10 point scale.
So far, I believe surgical competence and beside manner are great.

Dr. Glen Moore is a awesome doctor! He is so laid back and down to earth. He made me feel very comfortable and I felt like I have known him for years! He takes his time and goes through a bunch of questions and then tell you which procedure he thinks is best FOR YOU. He's very informative in which one you choose. His staff is great too!!! Coming from Ontario, I first met Dr. Moore a few days before my surgery. I can't say enough good things about him or his fabulous staff. From the moment we arrived in Virginia we were treated so well. The staff are very competent and kind. I got the impression that everyone associated with this practice truly enjoys what they do. Dr. Moore was approachable and friendly. He gave the impression that he had all the time in the world to answer our questions. All of our concerns were addressed honestly and openly. I left the initial consultation feeling that all of my worries were behind me. The surgery went great. Dr. Moore's statistics for complications are excellent.
