Dr Johnsrud is a wonderful surgeon. And everyone in his office are so nice. Before my surgery, I was so nervous that I was making myself sick. But Dr Johnsrud calmed my nerves and told me everything was going to be fine. He has such a great bedside manner. He also really emphasizes exercise after the surgery. If I tried to tell him that I had not exercised that month, he told me that there is nothing stopping me from walking around my block. I have reffered many patients to him, and I would recommend anyone to have Dr Johnsrud as their surgeon. Posted on 12/04/2007 |

Dr Johnsrud is a very good surgeon that came highly recommended by several friends that had him and Dr Hamaji as their Surgeons. He is very easy to work with and his staff has been wonderful. They have an extensive Pre and Post sugery care program. If i have problems even on the weekends i call their office and will hear back from one of the surgeons within a few minutes. I would rate his whole office as 9.5 out of 10. My experance so far has been great. Posted on 04/11/2007 |

What was your first impression of him/her?rnHe is extremely HANDSOME!rnHow did your impression change over time? rnAlthough he is very athletic, handsome and has never had a weight problem himself, he is VERY caring and understanding of those who do.rnHow would you describe his/her office staff? rnOffice staff is friendly and on the ball!rnWhat did you like least about him/her?rnSometimes he runs late, so sometimes I waited.rnWhat should future patients know about him/her? rnHe follows through and is caring!rnHow much does he/she emphasize aftercare?rnHe totally emphasizes caring and MAKING changes to our personal lives so we can continue on the road to successful WL.rnDoes he/she have a structured aftercare program? rnI'm not very involved in the aftercare at the hospital, they... [Click here for more] do have support group meetings I've attended a few, but mostly I'm made drastic changes on my own to keep the weight off.rnHow did he/she address the risks of surgery? rnI didn't feel the risks were addressed much. But I didn't ask a lot about risks - I was too excited to get the surgery. I had MAJOR complications, not the surgeons fault. But the same surgeon and others at St. Joseph's helped me pull through. It was a scary experience but I made it!rnHow would you rate him/her overall? rnScale from 1-10, 10! I've referred others to him, a close friend had surgery by him and she's doing very well.rnWhich is better, surgical competence, bedside manner, or are both great?rnWell, Surgical Competence is a MUST, and bedside manner really helps make the process much nicer.rn

Dr. Johnsrud is a wonderful man. He is professional and knowledgeable. He has a great way of making you feel comfortable. We both laughed. I am so thankful for him.rnThe office staff is freindly and helpful. Taylor is fabulous! New patients will feel good about going to him. He does not make you feel like a loser or that you have failed in any way.rnThe program emphasizes pre and post care. There are many classes and groups to attend all the way through your journey. I feel like all of my questions were answered and my conerns were addressed. I have not had surgery yet, but I feel I have made the best decision of my care giver! I am thrilled!! My first impression of Dr. Johnsrud, put simply, was a relief. He was very understanding and took his time to explain himself. My impression of him has not changed, despite insurance complications, since my first consult with him in 4/06. His staff seems to have a great patients with all that is involved with their Bariatric program. I can't really tell you what I liked least about Dr. Johnsrud, whats not to like? Any patients that are sent to him, I beleive, will find him to be a very pleasent gentalmen. The emphasize of the aftercare program was mentioned, of course, by Dr. Jhonsrud, however as you continue with the "pre-op" requirements you are reminded constantly and is enforced by everyone involed with the program. The aftercare program is very structured and from what I understand... [Click here for more] and strictly inforced. I do have most of the knowledge on the risks of surgery. These were touched on by various physicians with the program, however I have not made it to my "pre-surgical" appt yet. At this point my overall rate of Dr. Johnsrud and the Bariatric program without the insurance set back would be (on a scale of 1-10,10 being the best) a 10. My rate of them at the moment, because of the insurance/denial, is an 8. I feel as thou I am no longer of importance to them and feel they have not helped me enough with this situation. I would have to say that both the bedside manner and competence are important and make a huge difference in a patient's overall outcome before and after surgery.

What can I say about Dr. Johnsrud and his staff. They are WONDERFUL! Dr. Johnsrud is a very pleasant and upbeat man. He does not rush you in and out of his office. He takes the time to talk to you, LISTEN, and address your concerns/questions. rnrnDr. Johnsrud also practices what he preaches. According to his staff, he rides his bike to work once or twice a week (25-30 miles...in California!!!).rnrnDr. Johnsrud did not try to mask or give me any false hopes regarding the surgery. He told me all the complications and his history with the hospital. Posted on 09/30/2006 |

'Dr. Johnsrud was very personable and extremely encouraging as far as me being successfull with my weight loss after the surgery. He told me I will not have to live the rest of my life overweight. His office staff (Taylor was the only one I met) was very nice and very informative. It seems that the program they put you through prior to surgery is very necessary and certainly for the benefit of the patient. We really did not go over the risks of surgery in detail Posted on 06/01/2006 |

In addition to being totally hot, Dr. Johnsrud is such a nice guy! I am 7 weeks post-op and have had some complications. He has me come in once a week just to talk to him and so he can check in with how I am doing. We usually chat for at least 30 minutes and he always makes me feel that everything is going to be OK, no matter how crappy I felt when I went in. Love him! Posted on 03/18/2006 |

Dr Johnsrud is awesome. He has a great understanding of the problem of obesity and a great sensitivity to the patient. He's very positive and upbeat. He's also honest and tells it like it is. I enjoy being in his practice. The entire staff is absolutely wonderful and a blessing to be around. Posted on 09/03/2005 |
