Dr.V did my sister, my and my mother's RNY gastric bypass, he was great to work with and his staff was excellent. when the hospital tried to send me additional charges when I'd already prepaid and had left 1 day early, they took care of it immediately by contacting the hospital. I called late at night on day 1 or 2 cause I was scared of the pain and bruising and Dr. V assured me I was just healing, and he was right.
he changed our lives and we are all healthier and happier for it. Posted on 01/20/2010 |

My first impresion of Dr. Valentine was a great one! The guy knows what he's doing and answers all questions asked!!!
My impression of Dr. Valentine changed a little bit. He is a nice guy cares for his patients and has great bedside manners when it comes to the hospital stay!
Dr. Valentines Nampa clinic is the best. They told me what to do in order for me to prepare my surgery! They sent me alot of information like 3 days after I first called them! Danielle, Ricky Annie there all really nice!!!
There is nothing about Dr. Valentine that I don't like.
He is a great Dr. who is very well to his patients! Very caring and the type of Dr. you would want for this type of surgery. He rocks!
Dr. Valentine emphasizes alot after your surgery! He is always on call and will call... [Click here for more] you back personally if his staff cant.
Dr. Valentine has a very structured aftercare plan that is pretty much easy to follow nothing about this surgery is as hard as it sounds!
Dr. Valentine had pictures showing me what could happen. He was straight forward with it he didn't lie and he told me everything could be risky but everything turned out great!
I give dr. Valentine a 10!!! the best!!!
BOTH GREAT!!!

I had seen Dr. Valentine when my friend had him do a gastric bypass two years ago, so I knew he was nice, but was surprised when he came in all business, barely introduced himself, & did not shake my hand, either coming or going!
Not a great first impression, & I started second guessing my choice! They do an open informational seminar with a video of an actual surgery though, & I wanted my husband to see & hear what I was going to go through, so we went. What a change to get the doctor out of the confines of the office! He was personable, but the icing on the cake came when my husband actually walked out of the room and FAINTED in the hall during the surgery video! Dr. Valentine and his nurse Annie got him juice, monitored his pulse, iced his face & neck, treating him kindly - assuring... [Click here for more] him this was not unusual, & had him laughing at stories of other things that have happened at various past seminars. When we got back in the room Dr. Valentine pulled out pictures of his daughter's track meet! Absolutely different from the office visit, and I imagine the "all Business" tone was in regard to the seriousness of what I am about to undertake. In subsequent visits he has been relaxed, and fun to talk to. I am THRILLED to have him as my Doctor! Every one of his office staff is awesome, too! It is obvious they work well together, and each add their own unique personality to a helpful and pleasant office visit. I highly recommend Dr. Valentine!

Good Dr. he gives good and through explanations. Friendly yet serious when appropriate.
He told me up front and in detail what my risks were and what were the chances of dying from the surgery.
His office staff is great. His PA is concerned, friendly, and very supportive. The rest of the staff is efficient and friendly.
So far I like Dr. Valentine and his staff. Posted on 07/25/2007 |

Dr. Valentine is awesome! So is Annie, Dr. Valentine's physician assistant. And, Ricci, Valerie, Danielle, and Karen. Couldn't have made it without them. Posted on 05/27/2007 |

Great surgeon and office staff. Dr. Valentine did both my bypass and my gallbladder. Very impressed with both. Would definately recommend (and have) to anyone wanting a professional and competent surgeon, and who doesn't want that! :) Posted on 05/14/2007 |

When I first met Dr Valentine he was all business becuase of the seriousness of the surgery I am sure. When I decided weather or not to have it and came for my next appt. He was very warm and reasuring. He is a wonderful Dr. and I could not find the words to say thank you to him for the changes in my life for the better. Know that he might not be jolly for the first appt. but he needs to get across to the new patient the seriousness of the surgery, but he is warm and a truely skilled surgon... He is very informative and makes sure you know the score by the time you leave your first appt. Both his surgical competence and bedside manner are fantastic would recommend him to anyone in my family. Posted on 10/21/2006 |

I first saw Dr. Valentine and his PA in his information seminar in December 2005. They were warm, open, caring, and amusing. They were honest and forth coming with the Q/A. They warned of the hardships of this choice, but also told of the joys.
Annie and Dr. Valentine have loved my family and I through a ton of ups and downs this past seven months. They care how I am doing physically and emotionally. They have treated my family for their illnesses and made sure that my family were well also! Their nurse, Ricki, also goes that extra mile and does her best to never cause pain--while remaining firm and assertive.
Their pre-op and post-op care is mandatory--if you refuse to take the classes, support groups, psychiatric care, Karren (their nutritionist's) advice and help... [Click here for more] yourself; Dr. V will not do your surgery. He wants us to succeed. He cares that he makes a difference in our lives. He and Annie will not allow us to sabotage ourselves where they can help.
His bedside manner and competence are superior to all the other physicians that we checked in Idaho/Oregon. His team makes this daunting experience-- a joy.
The only negative thing I've found about Dr. V's office is that I don't particularily care for the billing. The statements are contradictory and confusing.

Ist Impression: Felt good about the doctor and the time he took with me. Office staff: I felt frustrated with the way they were so negative about insurance and that was discouraging. However, once we got the approval, the staff worked quicky to get my surgery date. Now that I am Post-Op, I can give a good rundown on their office.
Dr. Valentine is a caring and humerous person. He has a knack of putting you at ease the moment that he enters. I felt convident in his ability and his tone of voice shows that I am his focus and concern at that moment. He's a wonderful surgeon. However, it is not just the doctor that makes a good practice. His staff, especially his P.A. are the best! Working hand in hand with the doctor, they make you feel that you truly are important. Like Dr. V, they... [Click here for more] show concern for your well-being, compassion when you're in pain or anxious and an eagerness to be helpful. The P.A.'s are quick to respond to your concerns and the nurses are great too. Here, at this office, you are not just another number but a person! That is the best thing about their office. I would recommend him to anyone.

At first Dr. Valentine may appear to be a frank and to the point doctor. But I feel that he has to be for patients to get serious about this type of surgery. It is nothing to take lightly. Once you both get to know each other and get down to business then the tension eases. He is a very concerning, loving surgeon. He takes detail in his work. He won't take on anything he doesn't feel he can't accomplish. But he is also up to a challenge. I am very glad that I choose Dr. Valentine. Him and his staff are wonderful, they are always willing to help. They all seem to be knowledgable in the surgery and its aftercare. Dr. Valentine is willing to take whatever time is needed with his patients, I think that is his biggest attribute. So many doctors are in a hurry, but he isn't... [Click here for more] he wants to make sure that you understand everything. I would recommend him to anyone, and I have. I give a big thanks to him and his office staff. I am looking forward to a better life ahead of me. THANKS A BUNCH!!!
