So far so good. I have met Dr DeBarros once and have my preop visit next. He's very nice and friendly. I like the fact he has had the surgery himself and knows first hand about the information he gives me. I really loved Dr DeBarros. The whole office was awesome. I liked the fact that I did everything there and did not have to go to a bunch of different places. I did have to wait a bit at one appt but I was told that the doctor had an emergency, so I was not upset. Mike the dietician is the best out there and I know I made the best choice! The aftercare is the best in the state. They really followed up and made sure my needs were met. I love my lapband!! Thanks!rnI have to add that Paul Barros is the only bad thing about the office. Dr Debarros and Dr Orris are both very caring doctors. The staff are very caring and always willing to help if you have any questions or concerns. At my Pre-Op appt Dr DeBarros went over all my medical records, what to expect before and after surgery. Mike the Dietian was very friendly and answered all my questions no matter how silly I thought they were. The day of my surgery both Dr Debarros and Dr Orris came to see me to find out if I had any additional question or concerns. They made me feel very glad I chose them to do my Lap-Band surgery. The after patient care when I was in the hospital was excellent. I had my first band adjustment this week. The staff was friendly as always. Dr Debarros was his usual friendly self and gave me a warm greeting. Asked how I was doing and if... [Click here for more] I had any concerns.

Dr. DeBarros has been a gift from heaven! The WLIAZ facility embraces every person that comes to the office with warmth and kindness. I feel that I am in the best hands possible. I am grateful for the awesome care, concern for my well-being, and follow-up after my lap band surgery. The support groups are informative and I always walk away with new insights. My overall experience with Weightloss Institute of AZ (Tempe, Dr. Debarros) was great. From my first visit till the day of my surgery things went fast and smooth. WLIAZ took care of all of the paperwork with my insurance company and got me approved. The only thing I had to do was request medical records from my doctor. rnrnI didn't meet Dr DeBarros on my first visit, he was recovering from having had surgery himself. I did meet him on my second visit which was my pre op and I really liked him. He is very down to earth, professional and very thorough. He takes his time when explaining things and takes his time to listen to your concerns and answer questions.rnrnAs far as the staff goes, I could not be happier. Everyone is great and friendly, I especially liked Sandra, she... [Click here for more] is a very bubbly and kind nurses aid. Sandra was there for each of my pre op & post op visits and each and every time has made me feel extremely comfortable.rnrnMike is the nutritionist and he has a very gentle demeanor. I don't think there is anything that would upset this guy. He is very easy to work with and very empathetic. rnrnBecky is the head nurse (I think, not quite sure). Becky is very sweet and very much available to answer any question. I called a few times with concerns and she was there to answer my questions and put me at ease each and every time.rnrnI have no complaints about anyone at the WLIAZ. If I had to choose one negative aspect with my whole experience with WLIAZ I would say that it would have to be the waiting time when scheduled for a post op, but who hasn't had to wait at a doctors office before. I understand that emergencies happen on a daily basis and some people just have to wait a little longer. No biggie.rnrn

I am 10 weeks post op and after numerous visits to the doctors office, the surgery, 2 fills and 20 lbs down, I can say with certainty that these are WONDERFUL doctors. Each visit I have a barrage of questions and the doctors and/or staff answer each one. Dr. DeBarros and Dr. Orris perform 2 surgeon surgies, which was my decision maker. My surgery was a great success, and my incisions are beautiful! I had questions during my recovery and I recieved prompt responses and proper guidance. The office IS PROFESSIONAL. I have felt at ease and informed through this entire procedure. I love the support groups and Mike the dietician. Dr. Debarros had the lap band 1 week before I did and I feel that it gives him and "insider" view to the surgery, recovery and life changes that are part of WLS.... [Click here for more] WLS isn't just a surgery it is a total life change and the surgery is just the first step. Be sure to choose a facility that will address you throughout the process. I did much research in choosing my WLS doctors and I so glad I choose Dr. DeBarros and Dr. Orris.

I met Dr. DeBarros in the beginning of 2006 and was very impressed with him from day one. He put me at ease about what I was getting myself into. He answered my every question with wisdom and professionalism. He made me feel confident in him as a surgeon who knew what he was doing. So I took the necessary steps to change my health and quality of life by following his instructions and having the Lap Band surgery which has made a tremendous difference for me and my family. WLIA program has a good working staff that have changed several times since I have been going. But they do offer an all inclusive program; before and after care, support group that helps you for three years. However, the doctors; in my opinion, are what makes this a good program because they really talk to... [Click here for more] you and answer your questions. I actually drive over two hundred miles R/T to get to this program which is the down side for me. But I was happy my surgery went well, and my recovery was exceptional. July 11th was my one year anniversary and thanks to this program I have lost 67lbs. That's not bad for a young woman (60 yr old), and I can't express how wonderful I feel today after one year. Remembering the surgery; Dr. DeBarros visited me and put me at ease before and after the surgery. I can't say enough good things about him and WLIA. I rate him a 9.8 on a scale of 10 being the best. I truly love my Dr. DeBarros for his honesty, integrity, professionalism, surgical competency and also being a truly caring person.
