I met Dr. Touliatos, Sept 13, 2007 I went to the seminar on that day I weighed over 300 lbs. I did not know what I had gotten my self into. I still could have backed out but something made me stay and I am glad I did. I made my appointment for Nov 5. 2007. Nov 5, 2007 my first appointment I walked into the office with the idea of having the lap band however Dr. T had me changing my mind to the RNY I am glad I did. The staff was great in helping be getting me ready to have my surgery with in the month. I was ready to have my surgery on Dec 11, 2007. I was totally scared but Dr T prayed with me he explained that all would be ok. I was so relaxed by the time it was time for me to go to the operating room that I was calm. Now that is has been 6 months post op I've had very little... [Click here for more]

Before I even met Dr. Touliatos I prayed about who I should pick. I had a choice between two doctors. Both being Christians was a big plus for me. I was told they both pray with their patients. I really appreciate the fact that they know their gift of surgery is from our creator and Savoir Jesus Christ. I met him on my first visit. He was very through. Covering everything I had already looked up. I was so excited to meet him. He is very nice and even let my daughter make our picture together. This is a big event in my life. I know this is going to change my life in a big way. LOL No pun intended. Update since surgery. I highly reccomend Dr. Touliatos. I had no complications. Was able to go home the next day after my surgery. I love that his staff are very nice and helpful... [Click here for more]

I first met Doctor Touliatos at a seminar in Birmingham, AL 3 weeks before my surgery. He had kind eyes and was very direct and honest about the gastric bypass procedure. After the seminar, he talked with me and my husband and told us that he was looking forward to getting to know us better. How many surgeons tell you that? On my first office visit, his staff was very efficient, and I didn't have to fill out any unneccessary paperwork. Everything was fully computerized. I liked everything about Doctor T. He informed me of all the risks prior to my surgery and answered all of my questions. My office visit with him was about 30 minutes long, and my husband and I walked away feeling as if we had made a new friend. On a scale of 1 to 10, Doctor T is a total 10.5. When it... So I finally met Dr. Touliatos. He was very nice and didn't make me feel uncomfortable. His office staff is very friendly. I have to drive 3 hours to get to the hospital and was a little bit late and was afraid the staff would give me a hard time about it but they didn't. What I liked the least was that I had to wait 2 and a half hours to see him after my appointment time. He was very clear about the risks of the surgery but I am a low risk candidate so I am not worried about any complications. He even printed out a sheet restating the risks and complications of surgery just to make sure I was aware of them. As I only saw him for about 15 minutes, I don't have much more to add now.    Posted on 04/05/2008

I had my consultation on Jan. 23, 2007. My first impression of Dr. T is that he is tall and he seems nice. He explained all the basics about the surgery right off the bat and then let me ask all my questions. Even though all the appointments were backed up because he got out of surgery late, he took his time with me and didn't rush me. He said to contact him with any other questions. He had an answer for all my questions and I felt satisfied when I left there. I am looking very forward to having Dr. T perform my surgery.    Posted on 02/01/2007

Dr. Touliatos is a kind, gentle, knowledgable surgeon. He is patient and will answer all of your questions no matter how small. His middle name is Gabriel. How could you go wrong?    Posted on 04/25/2006

Surgery April 13, 05. Have long term history of overweight. Would never have considered this procedure except for the experience of my wife, Mary Ann Guthrie (This group) Impressed with his demenor and staff from day one. very helpful and non judgemental (servant's heart) I have problems being at ease with him, but it's on my side, not his. At Surgery + 18 days hit first big speed bump. Severe back pain and blood in stool. First thought to be possible acid reflux problem. 4 day hospital visit - Cat Scan - upper and lower GI testing. 2 units of blood product. No one told me this was an easy method of weight loss, don't kid yourself. Back on track, will update as events unfold. never under estimate the support groups and others who have gone before. no need to reinvent... [Click here for more]

My first impression was Man! He's tall...and young! I was nervous because he seemed so young. I quickly found him to be professional, and I could not ask for a better surgeon. The staff is incredible. I had to go on COBRA and they worked with it well. I got scared and I KNOW they had to get tired of my phone calls, but they never complained. I was impressed by the way he explained the surgery, answered my questions, and when we prayed on the day of surgery. Aftercare is emphasized. 2 visits every 2 weeks, then visits every 3 months. He explained that this is a major surgery, and that there were risks involved. He explained the statistics and asked me if I wanted to go ahead. On a scale from one to ten, I would rate him an eleven. Surgical competence and... [Click here for more]

Very nice, well dressed man. My impression never changed. Office staff have been wonderful. I can't say that I didn't not like anything about Dr. Touliatos. He is a wonderful DR. Can not ask for any better. Dr. Touliatos said a prayer with me before going into surgery, which won my heart and made me feel so much better about the surgery. I got to see him only 2 more times before he had to go out of country to teach the surgery, but I get to see him this December for my 2 year check up. Yes he sees his patients at 6weeks, 12 weeks, 1 year and then yearly I think. He tells you like it is. I would rate him a 10 overall. Can't ask for any better. Everything is great about him.Blue    Posted on 09/18/2004
