Dr.Krook is a very nice man, he listens very well and explains things using words even I can understand...lol! The staff at HCMC Bariatric Center is great, they all are very helpful and patient. Kim Wood is an excellent Dietician she has been wonderful support for me as I have had to deal with changes in my insurance and some personal issues as well.    Posted on 08/18/2007

Dr Krook was a fabulous doctor and i would do this all over again. The staff in his office are so friendly and helpful and make me feel so wonderful. They are so careful about making sure you are well prepared for surgery and afterwards, and there are no surprises. I would give Dr Krook a 15 on a scale of 1-10...he is awesome!!    Posted on 08/16/2007

My first impression of Dr. Krook is that he is patient and thorough. He took the time to answer all of my questions about surgery, about himself, and any other questions I had. He educated me well and made sure I knew just how deep the decision to have this surgery is. Now post-surgery, I have to say, the man is good. He has a great bedside manner, made sure I was ready to home --he didn't push me out of the hospital. I LOVE his nurses. They are absolutely great. Very available, very infomative...and it may sound silly, but my name is Margaret; however, everyone calls me Peggy. The nurses made sure that everyone knew that I go by Peggy and I was called that throughout. I have never really had that from a doctor.    Posted on 04/22/2007

He is an angel. He truly cares about his patients and is really a nice guy. I would give him a ten of ten and I look forward to the process. He stated that he is available 24/7/365. That is dedication.    Posted on 02/02/2007

Dr. Jon Krook is the most wonderful person one earth. When I first met him he came into the room saying "without even looking at your chart I could tell you are diabetic". He sat down rolling the stool over next to me so we sat elbow to elbow. He went over all the risks and benefits to WLS, by making a pro and con list. He drew diagrams, answered all my questions and made me feel so at ease. I never feared the surgery (To this day Dr. Krook is at my elbow reminding me "I am only giving you the tool to lose weight, it is up to you to use it wisely.") He told me he would give me a body to match my nice legs. (I have those skinny bird legs.) Each time I have seen Dr.Krook my first impression has only grown stronger that he was the right surgeon for me. Dr. Krook has left Unity... [Click here for more]

When I first met Dr. Krook, I thought...hey, are you old enough to operate on me? But, he quickly made me realize he knew what he was doing. He was very knowledgeable and made sure all my questions were answered. He made me realize that he was quite capable of taking care of me on the operating table. Overall, i wouldn't change who I had do my surgery. He did wonderful, and he helped me to gain a new life, essentially!    Posted on 12/28/2005

When I first met Dr. Krook it was at the intro meeting offered through Medformation. I thought he is young but has a outstanding recovery rate. As my date grew nearer I was anxious to met him again. I would have to say that Dr. Krook may be young, but tells you the way it is, straight forward, up front about everything, sets you at ease and really listens. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is considering WLS. The staff at the clinic is awesome and really care. Overall I believe that Dr. Krook had a great bedside manner and dealt with all risks before and after surgery. Very true to his word. We need more doctors and nursing staff like this team to help educate people about WLS.    Posted on 10/23/2005

Dr Krook was very young, but very confidant and kind.I only met him twice before surgery but scared as I was he reassured me and in the end this dr was nothing short of amazing!!!From my surgery to how well it was done with 0 complications minimal scarring minimal pain. He is very good at what he does, he has a gift for helping people like us! Dr Krook usually only does surgery laprascopicaly. I stongly recommend this ,within 1 week I took my kids to the water park and we were bike riding, The bariatric center in unity hospital is far superior to most others ive heard about! They are stict and very stuctured but its all well worth it.As far as surgery risks he was upfront and real,he told me all the surgical and medical problems that could happen,he also assured me he is very determined... I go to the Bariatric Center at Unity Hospital in Fridely, MN. The staff there is unbelievably nice, frindly and moderately socialable. The insurance lady there and I believe her name is Jen ( I will double check that), is an angel. My surgeon who I just met recently is extremely informative, reassuring and confident in himself. He is alos not afraid to throw a little humor in to make sure moods stay calm and light hearted. He makes sure that you understand how important after care is, and that is is ok to come in and call him for ABSOLUTELY ANY reason that may have you concerned. He was very thorough with the risks, the rates that they happen, how they may be able to fix them, and the very scary aspects of the surgery that could occur. He was also very thorough in explaining all... [Click here for more]
