LOVE HIM!
My consultation was so amazing. He covered everything and then some. His staff was friendly and helpful both pre and post op.
I'm VERY happy that he's there to care for those of us in society that others are happy to ignore. His goal was to help me and my family. He was genuinely empathetic and competent! I feel very blessed!
Thank you Dr. Dort! Posted on 07/07/2008 |

My first impression of Dr. Dort was that he was a very compationate person who seemed to truly care about what he is doing. Although, always having a third party to deal with when problems or questions occured, I did usually get the answer I was looking for. I sometimes feel however that when questions arise
(and they have) I have been forgotton or feel as though my persistance in wanting answers is bothersome. Almost 2 years post op I was hospitalized for 7 days with severe pain in my shoulder and chest. He had promised he would help to find out what was happening but I never heard from him again. Since I have self diagnosed myself and went to my primary for confirmation and sure enough I have a serious lack of d-3 which is what I suspected after many hours of research. I have... [Click here for more] since called his office in need of answers to resolve this problem since my primary Doc does not know and he(Dr. Dort) would now, after 6 months of suffering with cronic and disabling pain and a surgery later , would like too see me. We will see what happens next...

Very professional, explained everything in detail, worked me in for surgery before insurance changes so I didn't have to fight the approval process again. Posted on 10/08/2007 |

I met Dr. Dort yesterday--July 16,2007 and he is super nice and easy to talk to. He spent almost an hour with me talking about the pros and cons of surgery, the expected outcome and the risks. I feel very comfortable with him as my surgeon. Only thing I can complain about is my surgery isn't until September 4th, 2007, but oh well. I've waited this long, what's a few more weeks? Dr. Dort is everything everyone says he is. Very kind, thorough, caring, and makes you feel like you are the only patient he has on his schedule for the day. Even with all the questions I had, he never once made me feel like he needed to hurry me or that any of my questions where not important. I have seen many doctors in my lifetime and I have never had as pleasant of a consultation as this one was. I just wish the insurance companies would be more corporative so people would not have to go elsewhere! Posted on 07/01/2007 |

Dr Dort is a very kind and caring man. He takes all the time you need in each visit. You don't feel hurried or rushed in any way. I have seen him on more then one visit. Each visit was the same. All the time I needed and answered all my questions. I even emailed him one time and he responded the same day. That is not something you get from everybody.
He told me that he does not understand why people feel that this is the easy way out for people like me. But he stated that it is not an "easy way out".
I think he is the best... I am glad he is here.
After surgery I will come back and give more of a review about other items regarding Dr Dort. Posted on 05/21/2007 |

Dr. Dort is a kind, pleasant man. He is very informative and he never once made me feel odd for asking certain questions etc. He nevere tried to talk me into the surgery, but he also never tried to discourage me.
His work was excellent and his bedside manner was great. I am happy to have him as my surgeon and to have him by my side while I go through huge change in my life!! Posted on 08/30/2006 |

He's very kind and efficient. He had thoroughly reviewed my chart before my visit. I continued to be pleased with his care over time. I like his nurse very much. She is quick to return calls in an emergency. I felt like he did not always communicate well with his residents working under him and they would tell me one thing and he would say and do another. His after care is provided by the Wellness and Prevention Center in Wichita. He addressed the risks of surgery mainly through preop classes that were required before my first appointment with him. I was very pleased with his care. He was quick to return phone calls when paged. Surgical competence and bedside manner were both good. I did have a complication of leaking from the gastric pouch after surgery which lasted for 2 months.... [Click here for more] I became impatient with him and his resident during my second hospitalization. I felt like they could have coordinated my care better.

My first impression of Dr. Dort was a nice one. He has a wonderful smile and is very thorough with his information during the surgery screening process. I didn't feel like he was rushing to his next patient. He took the time needed to make me feel good about my decision. He went over the risks involved and I will let you know more later after my surgery about his bedside manner, etc. If it is anything like the first impression, I am fortunate to have him as my doctor.
