Dr. Park spoke at my orientation, and I immediately loved her! She was (obviously) very intelligent, and seemed to genuinely care about our health.
She is very business-like, but also caring, which many doctors don't seem to be anymore. Her skill as a surgeon (to me) is undoubted, and her bedside manner is also great!
I would definitely recommend Dr. Park to anyone looking for a bariatric surgeon.
The bariatrics staff as a whole is very committed to the health of each patient, and is very strict throughout the process to make sure we all can and will follow the rules. Posted on 09/05/2008 |

I met Dr. Park for the first time today. I have to say, I really like her. She was very thorough with her explanation of the procedure, she answered all my questions and those of my husband. She was happy with my weight loss thus far (7 lbs) and gave me what I felt to be a fair Pre surgery weight loss goal (10 more lbs). Dr. Park gave off good vibes and made me feel completely at ease with my decisions, the procedure and the care I will be receviing at Richmond Kaiser. Posted on 02/01/2008 |

When I met Dr. Park I was immediately comforted by her gentleness. Her skill was evident in that she is the head of surgery. I was her again today, a little more than 6 months post op and again, was grateful that she had been my surgeon. She's always made me feel good about my decision and my progress. My family was so touched by how she took time with them after the surgery to talk about how it went. She's awesome and anyone who has her for a surgeon will be in very capable hands! Dr. Park is a gentle lady and listens very well. She was very understand that I had already lost a lot of weight before coming to her clinic and told me to only lose another 18 pounds. I found that to be very fair. I only met her 1 time so I will update later Posted on 10/31/2006 |

Dr. Park has been wonderful! She is very kind, caring and compassionate - all qualities that I appreciated very much. I only have great things to say about her and the entire staff at the Richmond Kaiser Bariatrics Dept. Posted on 10/26/2006 |

I had my first meeting with Dr. Park this past week, and WOW - do I feel fortunate. This surgeon spent an hour with me! My first impression as she walked in the door was that she was confident and I was nervous. As I talked with her and listened to her a bit, my nervousness disappeared. She was very cool, professional, and nice. She definately emphasized aftercare and fully explained the surgery. I had a list of 20 questions typed up and she took the time to listen to and answer every one of them. Although something in here says no person can be the "best" in all aspects, I'm inclined to disagree with that statement. I think Dr. Park is the best doctor FOR ME - others may not feel this way or have this experience, but, if you belong to Kaiser, don't look at the surgery as... [Click here for more] the cure all that will keep you from being fat (that's your job, not the surgeon's job), you're doing the work and willing to spend the rest of your life doing the work and taking responsibility for yourself and what you put into yourself, Dr. Park may be the right Dr. for you. I would rate her a 10 frankly - I'll re-rate her post-op obviously, I can't speak to her surgical competence, but she is the Chief of Bariatrics at Kaiser Richmond and one of the founding team that brought it there, so I'm thinkin' she's extremely competent. And her bedside manner, based on what I received from her during our first meeting is perfect for my needs. Listens, compassion, pleasant, and nice.

She was wonderful. I liked her from the moment I met her. She was really caring and concerned for me. She was very knowledgable. Her office staff were very friendly and eager to help me. She listened and was genuine...she looked me right in the eye when she spoke to me. She told me everything to expect and everything went exactally as she said. She did a minimally invasive procedure on me. My scars were small and my pain was minimal. She emphasized aftercare greatly. Her affilate hospital, Kaiser Permenante, has a great program for before surgery, during and after. Unfortunatelly for me, I had to move away only one month after surgery and didn't get to follow up with her...but the teaching I had prior to the procedure helped me to know how to handle post op concerns. I've done well... [Click here for more] and expect to continue to do so. Her surgical competence and bedside manner were great and she appeared to go above and beyond her call to be a great physician.

Originally I was scheduled with Dr. Fisher. He was very competent, nice, friendly, and up front about what I was doing. He explained in detail what to expect, etc. When I had lost my 10% and had surgery scheduled with him, they called to say that he would be on vacation. I could wait for him or move my surgery one day and switch to Dr. Park. Dr. Park was the doctor at the orientation and I was comfortable with what she said there, so I switched. She was very thorough also. I was impressed with the knowledge that she had and that she never thought less of me because I am going through the surgery. My impression of her only improved with time.
The office staff are great! They are there to help with every step -- pre surgery and post surgery. The aftercare is structured... [Click here for more] and they follow up with me to make sure that I am doing what I am supposed to be doing. I feel that I can always call and ask questions.
Dr. Park is the best!

She was so nice and I really enjoyed her.
I dont have anything negative to say about Dr. Park. She was very professional and listened and answered every question I had.
She strongly suggested following the aftercare schedule very strictly.
There is a very structured aftercare program to follow.
I would rate her a 10!!! Posted on 03/20/2005 |

My first impression of Dr. Park is that she was attentive, caring and very knowledge about the procedure in which she would perform on me (Lap). The staff at KP Richmond was great. Dr. Park is caring and sensitive to your needs and concerns but a the same time, her first and most important issue is that you understand what you are doing and the risk involved.
KP Richmond has a very structured after care plan and you have to sign a contract adhering to the program after care program. I would rate Dr. Park 125% and I love her to dealth. Everything about Dr. Park was awesome. Posted on 02/23/2005 |
