I have met Dr. Rashid and she is so sweet. My 1st impression of her is that she is very commited to helping you understand all the pros and cons of having gastric bypass. The office staff have been very helpful so far in helping me get the documents that I will need to get approved by medicaid for this surgery.
I just learned that Dr. Rashid won't be doing my surgery... one of the other partners will actually do it his name is Dr. Larry Hobson I will meet him on May 20th, 2008.
UPDATE:
I just loved my Dr. He is very kind and has a wonderful bedside manner. He doesn't rush thru what he has to say and he takes time to listen and answer your questions. If I had to do it again I would chose Dr. Hobson all over again!!! Posted on 06/11/2008 |

When I first met Dr.Hobson I thought he was funny and he answered all the questions I had...I felt very comfortable around him and asked plenty of questions..Most of his staff is nice but there was one lady who was just rude and didnt care bout the pain I was in after surgery..I would rate him a 10 overall I just hope that I continue to have nice vists with him and his staff..The process is hard but I have heard in the end it will all be worth it. My first impression was a little bias because I was really wanting Dr. Titus Duncan to do my surgery but his surgery calendar was full until sometime in June and I need to have it done ASAP so I guess who better than one of his partners, right? Dr. Hobson seems very nice and he answered all my questions. He's very knowledgeable and explained the process in great detail.

I love my surgeon. I'm not crazy about the office in general, but this guy is terrific. His stats are amazing and his bedside manner even moreso. If this guy had tol dme "I've decidedto start doing my procedures in an alley behind the hospital", I would've asked "which alley and what time should I be there?". I totally trust him.
He's talented, listens to you (never felt rushed with him), and made me feel like I was in great hands. Posted on 05/13/2008 |

Love the man.. as a surgeon of course. Really dislike his staff. I find it hard to go for post op visits because I will have to deal with them, but I really miss Dr Hobson's advise and guidance. Posted on 02/17/2008 |

I actually saw my surgeon for the first time at the seminor on 9-29-07. He was nice then. I think he is respectfull. He listen to me and he encourageed me on my goals. The office staff is very nice and they helped me with a dilemma that came up on this journey. I have met with my surgeon twice now.
He is pleasant and very informative. He spent time with me answering all my questions. He said he has done over 1000 procedures so far. He said on average he does three a day. My two meetings with him were only a week apart so we will see how he does over time. I am still waiting for surgery so I will have more to say afterwards I'm sure. His office staff is very pleasant, they call you by name and are easy to reach once you are accepted as a patient. They answer the phone and you can always get a live person to talk to, they always call you back when they say they will, which is very important to me. Their post op meeting was very helpful but it took all day between the Doctors class and exam and the hospital. The location leaves a... [Click here for more] lot to be desired, but thier seems to be adequate security. There is a lot of stress on after care and they even have a exercise facility and pool for use after surgery. Risks of surgery were addressed both by the doctor and also in the pre op class as well as extensive paper work which I was given to read and sign at pre op. I really can't fairly rate him and his staff yet since I have not had my surgery yet. I will add more after surgery and then after the after care program is in full swing. So far all is well!
It is Monday four days after surgery and I feel great. I must say I am very pleased with my care, Dr Hobson was wonderful and very reassuring before surgery. I have had no problems at all and would highly recommend him and his staff. I would also like to comment on Atlanta Medical Center... It is the best hospital I have ever been in. I was treated with respect and concern during my stay. Every where I went in the hospital I was greeted and asked if I needed anything. The nursing staff always promptly answered the call button and checked on me often. Everyone greeted me with a smile and great attitude, including the financial office, pre-op, radiology, transportation (the nice people who took me to and from.) The rooms are wonderful and bright and on the top floor with a beautiful view of Atlanta. Noisy when the Helicopter lands, but that only happen twice during my stay. There is a place for some one to sleep in the room with you if you like.
I was told by my family that the hospital food was very good, which is first for any hospital I have been in. I would highly recommend this Hospital, the staff is wonderful and very knowledgeable. I enjoyed my stay and felt like a well taken care of guest.

very cool calm and straight forward very confident the more I saw him the better I felt. the office is good but they do need to do better on communicating with there patients. Altough he was good I really needed to feel more of a bond with him and the staff not just a chance to make money, he is great though made me feel good about the whole thing. He pushes for after care stuff to help you with the proccess he never really said much about the risk of surgery only that there is risks in all surgerys. I would really use him again if I was looking for a doctor for my surgery, his competence was never a issue and bedside manner was good. Posted on 01/12/2008 |
