Dr. Dennen was exactly how I thought he would be after reading other posts on OH. He is friendly, very nice, but very professional. I didn't get the typical feeling I get when I go to the doctor, that I'm fat and unhealthy, like I'm less of a person because of it.

Well my frist vist on my part did'nt go to well, I guss that I was in disbelive that I was finally in his office, Dr.Dennen went over a lot of thing that day and when it was time for me to ask question, \"I went blink". He could not belive that I did'nt have any thing to say. What I like must of him is that he is so for sure of his self,that he get to the point, and want let you get away with anting. If you aren't willing to do what he tell you. Move on. His time is for patiens that are willing to give up their lives, so they can live. Posted on 11/17/2007 |

My first impression is definlty a good one .He was positive and upfornt about complications he answered my questions. The staff was great they were all very pleasant people.
Overall hes a great surgeon so far no complications. I would recommend him . He had a great sence a humor . My friend met his shes aswell going to have surgery and she liked him aswell. Posted on 10/01/2007 |

Dr. Dennen is great! He is very professional, yet friendly, and has a great sense of humor. You can tell he cares, and he believes in what he is doing. He is head of the bariatric dept. and I feel very comfortable with him as my surgeon. I honestly can say that I trust him with my life. If it were not for him, my cancer would not have been found as early as it was...he literally saved my life! He knows his stuff, and he lets you know he does, yet not in an arrogant way. I am so happy with Dr. Dennen. He was forthright, honest and compassionate from the first I met him at the orientation at Kaiser Fremont. His staff is pretty nice too. When I was having issues with vomiting, not only did he take our call, he called me personally to follow up with my condition the following day. His care is beyond surgically competent, and his beside manner is just the best. He is comforting as well confidence inspiring. Posted on 01/13/2007 |

I first met Dr. Dennen at the Orientation. Very nice man. He Made sure all of our questions were answered before anyone left. I was going to request him but was assigned to him by luck of the draw. When I met him in his office he was very friendly and attentive to my replies. He made me feel like he had all day just to talk to me. Even though I knew he was behind in seeing patients. I don't mind waiting if I know I will get the same respect when it is my turn. I know Dr. Dennen will do a great job!
Well here I am 3 days post op. Dr. Dennen was everything I thought he was and more. I felt absolutley no pain at all in the hospital. A little soreness at home but not enough for meds. Dr. Dennen is such a kind, considerate, caring person I would recommend him to anyone and everyone.... [Click here for more] His bedside manor and his competence are both outstanding! Thank goodness, I found him!

What a wonderful doctor. He taught my orientation class and I was really impressed from that day forward. There is no doubt that he wants to help the obese to lose weight and become healthy. I strongly recommend him.
11/3/06 - Now that I am post-op, I absolutely adore this man. He has this incredible bedside manner. I was at ease the whole time and felt very, very, very safe in his care!!

He is amazing. He seems to have a genuine concern about the overweight and wants to do what he can to help. I hear he has a great bedside manner and based on what I have seen so far, I have no doubt that he does. I like his staff so far as well. They are well organized. He was the pioneer of the program in his clinic and has helped other Kaiser facilities build their bariatric program as well. He is very honest and asks you the hard questions in your first consult. I think I lucked out in that being a Kaiser HMO it is they who initially assign my surgeon though I could reject the choice in favor of another. But Dr. Dennen is engaging, patient oriented, experienced, and inspires my confidence. As I write this I am 10 days prior to my RYN surgery with him 5/22/2006.
