I can't tell you how much this man means to me. He gave me a chance at a life back and for that, he will forever be in my heart. He is an extremely skilled surgeon and very caring human being. He put me at ease right away, and was wonderful with my son and mother as well, reassuring them at every step of the journey on surgery day and beyond. His office staff is wonderful as well, Julie and Elizabeth are always ready and willing to help with anything you need, and they always have a smile for you! I was early for my consult with Dr. L, I mean really early 3 hours early, but it gave me an opportunity to see the office staff and how they interact/react with people at different stages. I was floored at how nice they are, and how comfortable they made me feel. Dr. L, well he is this quiet gentle smiling soul that made me feel at ease and told me what I needed to hear, and made something that was very important to me , so very possible, attainable, and all the more desired. If you are considering the DS, Dr. Lutrzykowski is the caring, straight talking, extremely skilled surgeon you need to consider first.I respect him greatly.The level of care was second to none and I would tell anyone interested in having the DS with Dr. Lutrzykowski to GO FOR IT!!! I can tell you a few things about Dr Lutrzykowski. He is the kind of surgeon who goes above and beyond putting patients first, like postponing his vacation if he has a patient not doing well, he does not dump them on another doctor to take care of. The nurses at the hospital are scared of him, they will comply with his orders, they make damn sure you have your pumping boots on because there will be hell to pay if he comes in and they aren't. They help prevent blood clots, that's very important. He is in doing rounds every day, sometimes twice. When I was in ICU (due to low blood oxygen) I knew he was taking every precaution and my mom was kept very up to date on what was happening.
I didn't lose my pre-op weight and he was pretty harsh with me (as he should have been), but I have... [Click here for more] to say after being his patient I have no reservations at all that he would not do anything in his power to watch out for and ensure my well-being. I have 100% faith in him as a surgeon above and beyond his stats.

My first impression of Dr. L was that he had a kind smile and instantly put me at ease. He explained the surgery to me in great detail and patiently answered my questions.

When I walked into his office he had a very warm smile. He is not a flashy doctor.
He genuinely listens to what you have to say and is very straight to the point. I felt safe and very welcomed. He answered all my questions and told me we would have another met before surgery to go over risk and complications, which I thought he would have done then.
His staff was amazing. When he examined me, I felt right at ease, which I never feel when around a doctor, and he had warm hands!! Very thoughtful!

When I first met Dr. L I was impressed with his no-nonsense approach. He listened to what I had to say but was quite frank about my condition and his ability to help me. He continued with his strong personality and professionalism throughout my hospital stay, commanding respect and compliance from the hospital staff and myself!! If he said do it, you wanted to make sure you did!! Everything was always done with my health in mind, which was VERY important to me.
