I chose Dr. Nichols in Redding after I was unable to come up with 3500 dollars for a program free @ Dr.Ludwigs office in Chico. It's a long drive but I'm finding it well worth it.
The staff at Shasta Reginal have been great and many of them have had gstric bypass so there very in tune with their patients. Everything seems to be straight forward and going smooth. I have already been approved for the surgery and I'm waiting for a surgery date from Dr.Nichols office. I will keep you updated with information as my surgery date becomes available.
Surgery is on January 28th, just a few days away! Posted on 01/24/2008 |

I think he will be my surgeon. He was the one I had my consult with. He was understanding when I told him how I knew I had an allergy to latex. Everyone was very pleasant and understanding. Some had had their surgeries by the two doctors in the office. They were very informative. Posted on 07/28/2007 |

Dr. Mirande is a very nice, approachable person. He is respectful and treats you like you are a person, not some lazy, slob. He is passionate about his job, and the progress of his patient's. I am excited to have this surgery done. And feel at ease knowing he is at the wheel. Posted on 07/26/2007 |

My first impression of Doctor Nichols was...WOW, this guy knows what he is talking about. Very informative and excited about my personal goals. He seemed to be very interested in my future success but also let me know that it's up to me to do so. After care and support meetings are vital and he encouraged to follow up with both. So far (since I haven't had the surgery yet) I would rate him a 10. We will see how his bedside manner is soon (which I'm sure is fantastic).

Dr Nichols is a quiet man, but a very competant and caring doctor. I believe his passion is to inspire us to follow his program to the letter so we will be sucessfull. The program is tough, but it works. Dr Nichols and Dr Stone have operated on well over 500 patients and have not had one fatality. The program's sucess rate is incredible. The average excess weight loss is 80%. I believe 80% is way above average. The risks of surgery were discussed at least three times prior to surgery. I was well informed. There is nutritional support before and after surgery. I would highly recommend this program to anyone seeking weight loss surgery. Posted on 05/05/2007 |

Dr. Nichols is a very soft spoken but extremly informative doctor. In my consultaion he went into detail about all of my options that I had. I have see a different surgeon before and Im so glad to have met Dr. Nichols I just feel so much more comfortable with him. Posted on 02/16/2007 |

My first impression was that he was a very serious man, very proffesional.
He seemed to really care about me as a patient and a person. His office staff was OK the very first nurse I had was very rude, but she was nice the second appt.
There wasnt anything at all that I disliked about him. I loved the fact that he is an outdoor type of man, That he repects mother earth. He is adement about me keeping my appts. He really cares about his patients, its not just for the money. He let me know thoughly the risks of the surgery. I would definatly rate him a 10 I had no pain whatsoever after surgery, I am very thankful I got such a great doc!! Posted on 01/06/2007 |
