i had my surgery on 1/31/2006 and doctor cunningham and his staff were fantastic. i cant say enough about them. he made me feel so safe and unafraid. if any one is able to se doctor c you wont be disappointed, hes great. a month after my surgery my best friend had her surgery and she agrees hes the best. his bedside manner is great. he really explains in detail what is going on he came to visit me several times after surgery and really took time to listen to my concerns and answer all of my questions. he helped save my life and i would tell anyone who is looking for a great doctor to give him a call. My husband and I liked Dr Cunningham right from the start. He was honest and very informative. He explained they surgery and the differences with laprocsopic and open. He addressed the risks honestly. I like a doctor who is both surgically competent and has a warm bedside manner. When I checked into it 5 years ago we hated the doctor we saw.
His office is well organized by Marcy. The nutritionist Mary is awesome. They gear everything to "life changes" and expect you to begin changes immediately.
My biggest disappointment has been the time in getting a date for surgery after insurance approval. I still dont have a date and my insurance approval runs out Oct 1. Other doctors in the office do not seem to have these delays. Posted on 09/23/2007 |

Dr. Cunningham did a wonderful job explaining the open RNY procedure to my wife and me (we are both having this surgery with Dr. Cunningham). It was a wonderfully stress-free encounter. I feel entirely comfortable under his care. Posted on 09/07/2007 |

the staff are well imformed
he is very frank about what will happen but i guess that's what you want.
he told the class there were three of us there how things would bew and answered questions one on one also
yes

i think he is a great surgeon and i hope i get to hav e the surgery
surgical competence is the first thing i want and the bed side manner would be great also
he didn't try to make it sound like a walk in the park. Posted on 02/24/2007 |

When I first met him I could tell he knew what he was talking about and I instantly felt comfortable talking and listening to what he had to say. I will write more later. Posted on 04/05/2006 |

Ok had my first appointment with the Doc. Seems really cool nice guy to talk to. He's a real DR. whiich i like, he's not going to just cut anyone open he want to make sure that u are ready to change because this is a once in a life time thing. Once it's done its done. I'm cool with that. He want's to make sure that everyone is ready for this in the long term, that u want to lose weight and that we can work out. He want us to lose weight before your next visit to see if your commmited to losing weight becuase if you not commited now what going to happen to us 3 years from now after he does the opp. Alot of people think that once u lose the weight it's gone, but if your not eating healthy and not working out the weight will come back, and he explances that to everyone and want to see... [Click here for more] some change in 6 weeks before your 2nd visit

Dr.Paul Cunningham and his staff are wonderful. They have nurse practioners and a dietician and they all are there for the benefit of the patient. There program is good, it's one of the best yet in the Syracuse area because this is a life changing commitment and you have to commit or you will fail. The team will make sure you're making the right decisions. They hide nothing. Dr.Cunningham has kept it real with me. Posted on 09/17/2004 |

My first impression of Dr Cunningham was quiet and reserved. He is extremely knowledgable and informative. He is extremely honest in answering your questions. You do not get a lot of alone time with him but his staff answers all your questions before you see him so it is not necessary. I think he will make a brilliant surgeon and look forward to having surgery. His pre-op and aftercare programs are very structured to provide a no fail enviroment. Posted on 04/25/2004 |

My first appointment is scheduled for April 15, 2003. I went to an informational meeting where Dr. Cunningham spoke. He explained the proceedures and answered questions well. I'm looking forward to my first appointment with him.
8/8/2003 I'm very happy with the program that Dr. Cunningham is involved in. There are 4 surgeons, a nurse practitioner/office manager, a nutritionist and other that I haven't met with as much. They are all very professional and pleasant. I met with the nutritionist on every visit, and will meet with her again 10 days after surgery when the staples are removed. Posted on 08/09/2003 |
