Dr. Robert Pinnar has extensive experience, not only with Lap-Band surgery, but with all types of advanced laparoscopic surgery. He was one of the pioneers of laparoscopic cholecystectomy at Reston Hospital Center in 1989, and he has continued to remain at the forefront of advancements in laparoscopic surgery ever since, having performed over 4000 laparoscopic surgical procedures to date. He has been performing Lap-Band surgery since it was introduced at Reston Hospital by Pinnar Surgical Associates in 2003, and he was one of the first surgeons to be trained in this type of surgery in our area. Dr. Robert Pinnar has put together a team of professionals who have the most experience in the mid-Atlantic region in the care of the Lap-Band patient. His team has performed in excess of 7000 Lap-Band adjustments to date. Paul Marino, PA-C and Sue Anderson,RN are his clinicians who work with all patients both pre-operatively and post-operatively, lap band adjustments and all aspects of patient care. We participate with many insurance companies.
