My first impression of my doctor was, "I like him he has a great since of humor". I think that is very important in a person. When we got to talking about surgery and the different options he was very serious. rnHis office staff is great. Everyone is very nice.rnHe does want to see you after your surgery and see how you are doing, but I'm the one who wanted this surgery and I'm the one who is responsible for making my appointments and keeping them. I like that I'm not forced to do anything.rnI would recommend Dr. Hamamji to anyone who is looking for a doctor who knows what he's doing. I'm glad I picked him. rnDr. Hamamji is great at both surgical competence and bedside manner.    Posted on 06/15/2007

My first impression of Dr. Hamamji was very good. He's very understanding and explains things in great detail. I'm glad I chose him because the pre-op and post-op programs are great. Also I see a registered dietitian every 2 months, to see how i'm going in my WLS journey. I see the Dr. every 3 months following my 1 month checkup. Dr. Hamamji is a great choice for WLS.    Posted on 08/16/2005

First off, I am 1 yr. 2 months post-op. (surgery was May, 04 and I've lost 130 #'s). Dr. Hamamji and the entire office staff are the most caring and supportive people I've ever met. I do not have one negative thing to say. My entire experience has been fantastic. Maybe that's why Dr. Hamamji calls me his "poster child". I thank God everyday for their skills and knowledge. They truly have changed my life. So back to the beginning of my WLS journey...I originally was with Primecare of Corona, which denied my consultation. They said I didn't meet the "co-morbidities", even though my BMI is 47. go figure! A friend of mine at work that I introduced WLS to got her consultation approved through a different medical group and she didn't have any "co-morbidities". So rather than... [Click here for more]

Dr. Hamamji is an excellent surgeon, always caring and met all needs that I had. I had some complications after surgery, so I was in the hospital longer, but he was there for me every step of the way. I was in the hospital for 16 days and I had excellent care. The hospital is well equipped for Bariatrics patients and I would highly recommend them. The staff at Dr. Hamamji's office have all been great and so helpful. I wish all Doctor's and their personnel were all like this. They have been there for me, answering any and all questions I have had.    Posted on 01/18/2005

I met Dr. Hamamji through my Dad, who also had surgery with him on the same day. My Dad had a lot of infections in his legs and before Dr. Hamamji became a bariatric surgeon he treated him. Dr. Hamamji is a very down to earth person, he is very concerned about your issues and wants to help. I found the staff at St. Joseph to be very helpful and awesome. Before I came to this group, I went to another one and felt that they were only out for my money and not looking out for my well being. When I came to this group, I felt like I was part of a family.    Posted on 12/21/2004

I found Dr. Hamamji to be a excellent surgeon and he explained everything very well. I was the third patient that had surgery there. I think that it is very important to stay focused with the support groups even years out You need to keep up with the exercising and also attend the behavior modification classes just to stay in tuned with your lifestyle changes. I found the entire staff to be great. The support is phenomenal with this group.    Posted on 12/21/2004

After the Community Lecture I attended back in May of 2004 Dr. Hamamji struck me as being highly professional and friendly. My first impression were right on the mark and in addition he his highly concerned with his patients needs. His entire staff is friendly, professional and go out of their way to take care of all of your needs and concerns. Dr. Hamamji and his staff will provide you all the assistance that you could possibly need to obtain and maintain successful weight loss. The aftercare program is the best there are regular visits with Kathleen their dietician not only does she educate you, but she also hands you prepared menus and food lists during each phase of your journey. In addition, there are two support groups a month that addresses every possible issue and/or concern... [Click here for more]

My impression of Dr Hmamjia and his staff was that they care and understood the needs of their patients. Evan after 15 months they still are pulling for your success. He does explain all the risk of the surgery. On a scale form one to ten I would give Dr Hamamjia an 8.    Posted on 09/28/2004

Looked like someone I could my trust into. I found that my first impression was exactly right on. Could be better There is nothing I don't like about him so far. He is very detailed, dots every eye and crosses his Ts Very much yes, he has a whole group set up to help you through everything. My first impression was that he is disorganized (I waited an hour past my appointment time and was very perturbed since I was on my lunch hour). Once I got in the office though, I found out why. He is extremely patient and freely answers any question you have, no matter how long it takes. His office staff is great except the receptionist who, in my opinion, desperately needs better people skills. The whole St. Joseph Hospital program emphasizes aftercare with a nutritionist visit every six weeks, two support groups per month and a personal trainer available to any patient who wants to take advantage of his knowledge and skills. Dr. Hamamji is a nice guy who wants to make sure that his patients have very carefully considered what they are about to do and that they are realistic about... [Click here for more]
