My impression of dr Marshall is not a good one. i had open rny aug 11 2000. he was my doctor for eight years. started having problems in 2006.I was on his website ,before/after pictures.im in the info he sends to people who are looking into surgery.I feel he has swept me under the rug because of the problems im having.he did surgery on me in jan 2008.im still in alot of pain.He told my husband and i as a surgeon there was nothing more he could do for me.so i guess he is no longer my doctor.i had an upper gi bleed in feb of 2008.not sure where it came from.90% of stomach they cant see or the 23 feet of my intestins that cant be seen.the pain is slowly killing me.I have left his office crying before-he has the worst bedside manner. What do you do when the dr who does your surgery no... [Click here for more] longer wants to treat you?

Dr. Marshall is a no nonsense surgeon. He is straight to the point and makes sure you understand what you are commiting to. I would recommend Dr. Marshall to anyone to was considering WLS. My incisions are small and my brusing was minimal. (I had Laprosocpic RNY). He is the best at what he does. Dr. Marshall's beside manner is something to be desired but believe me I would much rather have a skilled surgeon than a joker. Posted on 02/21/2008 |

I was a little intimated by him, i hurd his bed side manner sucked and that he was uncaring,,,that was the farthest from the truth,, i never had any problems with him and he always made a point to sit and chat for a minute or so before he left the room.. office staff know what they are doing and quick to return calls.. he was only gruff with me when i needed to be put back on track...i would do it again with a doctor like him. and Jana Reed and Melinda love them both!!!thanks for giving me my life back!!! Dr Marshall is a very thorough doctor, and he is very sure that you understand what the surgery is doing for you. What it is used for, "A Tool". I think very highly of him and he did a wonderful job on me, and I have nothing but great things to say about him. Posted on 02/06/2007 |

I have worked in several areas of the country and have had contact with post bypass patients from various programs. I feel that my preparation, surgical procedure and outcomes are exceptional compared to most. Posted on 10/21/2006 |

My first impression of Dr. Marshall was exactly what I expected. Straight to the point, no fooling around. A very competant surgeon. My impression of him is still the same. He is a wonderful Dr. Just lacks in the bed side manner. But I would pick competance over the bed side manner any day. His office staff is wonderful. Have had no trouble with them. They allways have a smile for you and have been very helpful. For what I want future patints to know about him is that if you want someone that is Very Competant and dont care about the bed side manner aspect of it, he is for you. Excellent in my opinion. My first impression of Dr. Marshall was that he was very sraight forword and kinda of unpersonable. I only met with him a few times but each time I did he seemed to lossen up a bit. The staff in the office are great. They are friendly, easy to talk to and very understanding. The best thing about Dr. Marshall is that he does give it to you how it is,there is no beating around the bush so to speak with him. He is a wonderful surgeon and would let him cut me all over again. My first meeting with Dr. Marshall he seemed very business like and competent. I had been leaning towards the Lap Band procedure, but he stated that he was actually biased towards the RNY. We trade information and discussed both procedures until I was statisfied that I had the info that I needed to make a final decision. He was very patient and forthcoming in his answers to my MANY questions. He suggested that I think over everything and call his nurse back in a week and we would procede to the insurer with either procedure that I decided to have. He stated that I was an ideal candidate for either procedure. My BMI is 40.6 on this date, 1/17/05.
I cannot say that he exuded a warm, comforting bedside manner, but this was only our first visit and I have not had much of an opportunity... [Click here for more] to see him in various circumstances.I felt that his approach was very informative and forthright. I like him!
