I met with Dr Brody back in April. He was REALLY nice and straight to the point. His staff was extremely helpful especially carlita. Unfortunately, I wasnt approved due to it not being a "specific condition caused by a specific disease" whatever that means so I requested a peer-to-peer. Im awaiting the results of that now. My HR person said to see if Dr. Brody can word it differently cause my job and my insurance DO cover it so Im in waiting mode at the moment. If denied again, which I have been 3 times now the other 2 were with carefirst, now Im with NCPPO, then I will try another Dr. Well, I moved to Dr. Fullum, and once again a denial due to it being an exclusion unless the obesity is caused by another disease NOT for weight loss. So SIGH Ive given up for the most part.... [Click here for more] UPDATE!!!
Got new insurance and already spoke with them and they cover the surgery!!! They also cover revisions and plastic surgery 18 months down the line. I go to Dr. Fullum tuesday to get my package together to give to the insurance people for approval. Wish me luck.

My first impression of Dr. Fullum was he is a very attractive man. Although he is attractive his knowledge of WLS and his easy going nature are outstanding. He is very patient. I have visited other WLS offices and they talk at you not to you. His office staff is on point. That Christine Bauer is no joke. She is so straight forward and thats what I need. She puts it out there just as it is. I will update more after my new birthday-7/8/08. Posted on 05/16/2008 |

Dr. Fullum is amazing! He is so personable. Someone told me that he is your WLS cheerleader. I would have to agree. I feel that he is just as much interested you my success as I am. I ask him if he minded if we prayed together before my surgery. He said "sure thing." He took my hands and I led us in prayer. It was wonderful. He checked on my twice after surgery. I was so happy to see him. He wanted to make sure he answered all of my questions. I feel very blessed to have chosen such a wonderful surgeon. Posted on 09/26/2007 |

My first impression of Dr. Fullum was that he was handsome and kind. I only met him once so my impression has remained the same, His office staff though great when you are in front of them are disorganized. I hated that he was so buys! i hate the lack of contact after sugery. if I do not call them they do not call me. I feel like I need more guidance than I am recieving and therefore will not get to my goal weight any time soon. No structured aftercare program. Both surgical competence and bedside manner are necessary. Posted on 02/01/2007 |

My first impression of Dr. Fullum was the same as many other patient's... He was very pleasing to the eyes. Dr. Fullum was very knowledgable and made me feel very comfortable. He explained all the benefits and risks associated with this procedure. His office staff is very professional any very easy to talk to. He emphasizes education, so you will have total understanding of the entire process of this life-changing surgery. Dr. Fullum is an outstanding physician that I have had the pleasure to encounter. If you are searching for a knowledgable surgeon with an excellent bedside manner, give him a try! Posted on 01/04/2007 |

Dr. Fullum and his staff are wonderful people and have definitely made the journey to WLS a great one! I am so thankful that I followed Dr. Fullum to his new office in Baltimore! During my pre-op visit Dr. Fullum explained every step of the surgery to me in great detail and the program at UM-Baltimore is very thorough and comprehensive. I highly recommend Dr. Fullum and I have heard rave reviews of the program at UMD. I know that my surgery will be a success because Dr. Fullum puts you at ease and answers all your questions. MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF DR. FULLUM WAS...I'M GLAD THAT I WILL HAVE A FINE SPECIMINE WORKING ON MY BODY.(~~smile~~)
NO REALLY, HE WAS VERY INFORMATIVE AND CARING TO THE OBESE PATIENT. NOTHING ABOUT HIS MANNERISM WAS BAD IN ANY WAY. ALONG WITH THE OFFICE STAFF. THEY TOO WERE VERY KIND AND SENSITIVE TO THE OBESE PATIENT.
THE AFTERCARE PROGRAM IS GREAT. THEY HAVE IT SET UP WHERE I WILL SEE THE MEDICAL DOCTOR (DR. TENIA TAPSCOTT) FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE. THAT WAS GOOD NEWS TO MY EARS. WHEN I HAD MY SURGERY, DR. FULLUM WAS WITH ANOTHER PRACTICE. HE IS NOW IN A BALTIMORE OFFICE. I DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT THE STAFF AT THAT OFFICE, BUT I KNOW THAT THEY HAVE TO BE GOOD 'CAUSE A GOOD SURGEON WON'T SETTLE FOR LESS WHEN IT COMES TO HIS PATIENTS.
THE STAFF AT THE PROVIDENCE OFFICE KNEW... [Click here for more] THEIR JOBS AND IF THEY DIDN'T I DIDN'T KNOW. THEY NEVER MADE ME FEEL LIKE THEY WERE INCOMPETENT, THAT'S A GOOD THING. ALSO, DR. FULLUM'S BEDSIDE MANNER WAS WONDERFUL. JUST BEFORE SURGERY, HE CAME IN TO CHECK ON ME AND MADE ME FEEL LIKE I WAS THE MOST IMPORTANT PATIENT HE'S DEALT WITH. I KNOW I WASN'T AND THAT HE TREATS ALL OF HIS PATIENTS THE SAME, BUT THE FEELING IS WHAT MADE THE DIFFERENCE. OVERALL I WOULD RATE DR. FULLUM 100%. HE WAS THE BEST AND I'M GLAD I DECIDED ON HIM AND NO OTHER SURGEON.
THESE ARE JUST MY PERSONAL IMPRSSIONS OF MY OWN PERSONAL EXPERIECE AND I AM MAKING NO STATEMENT ABOUT WHAT OTHER PEOPLE MAY EXPERIENCE.
