I met Dr. White at an information seminar. He gave the pros and cons of different types of WLS.
A lot of questions were asked some over and over, it seemed like some people were not good listeners. He never seemed to get impatient with people and was very understanding with some of the repetitive questions.
The coordinator Roxie was wonderful, I called her a lot and if she wasn't at her desk she would always call me back promtly.
They made special arrangements for me to come back on the Dr.'s day off since I had another appointment in Omaha that day. They went above and beyond. Posted on 06/19/2008 |

I have yet to meet this man, but I hear very very good things about him. I'm sure we'll be meeting in the next couple months. Posted on 01/22/2008 |

I had emailed him before I met him. Dr. White encouraged me to come in and promised to do the surgery. He is attentive but there is very little "face to face" time with Him. The office staff was great. I wasn't too impressed with the WLS coordinator. I was impressed that Dr. White met all of my expectations--great surgeon. Posted on 01/09/2008 |

I really like my surgeon. He made me feel very comfortable. He truly wanted to answer any questions I had. He spoke on my level. He is very confident. His staff seems very nice and understanding. They were patient and caring. I went a long distance to see them and they wanted to make the appointments convenient. Posted on 06/14/2007 |

I really like Dr. White and his office staff. They really helped me get my surgery scheduled quickly. My job took me out of state and they have been so helpful in scheduling my visits and getting everything done.
As I'm sure you may have heard, Dr White is very quick and to the point but not in a rude way. I think he reads his patients and feeds off them. If he feels they know what is going on, he is quick and to the point but if you need more support, he is there for you too. I'm one off those who don't need hand-holding but the patient in the bed next to me sounded like she really needed support and he was very reassuraning to her.
I can never say enough about Roxie and Sally and Beth and everyone from the office. They went above and beyond the call of duty as far as... [Click here for more] I'm concern.

I think my surgeon was the best!
I did some research before selecting Dr. White. There are only a few surgeons in Omaha that do weight-loss surgery. Dr. White had the recommendation of my regular physician, plus I spoke to several others who were very happy with the results they got with Dr. White. I also met with some of his "team", and was particularly impressed with the nurse who heads the bariatric surgery program that Dr. White is a part of (her name is Roxanne "Roxi" Peters, with the Alegent Health Bariatric Surgery program).
You should know that visits with Dr. White tend to be short and to the point - he is not one for chitchat! But he is extremely good at what he does, and Roxi and the rest of his staff will spend as much time with you as you need. Posted on 03/11/2007 |

I met with more with the supporting staff than I did with Dr. White. He did the first public meeting where we could ask questions, but as far as meeting him and speaking with him in person, it was a little disapointing. In my previous experience I had a 1 1/2 hour sit down and talk it all out with the surgeon. My one meeting with Dr. White lasted maybe 10 minutes. BUT I knew from his record that he was a great surgeon. He has done over 500 surgeries, with no deaths and a handful of leaks occuring during his first few dozen patients. He said that he had changed staples that he used and has had no more leaks since then.
The office staff is great. I met with Roxy who is a hoot. She was very helpful and informative. They have a great program lined up and you know what you are getting... [Click here for more] yourself into before you have the surgery. They have a support group that meets once a month that pre~op patients are welcome to attend as well as post~op. They also require follow up care every 3 months for the first year.
The staff addressed the risks of surgery and overall, Dr. White is a kind man, but very busy. I felt closer to the supporting staff than him. So I would have to say that his surgical competence is great, but I would have liked to gotten to know him a little better prior to surgery.

1/18/07 I saw Dr. White yesterday for my pre-op consultation. I was comfortable with him, good bedside manner. His bariatric coordinator and dietician were knowledgeable and thorough. I was surprised that they didn't weigh me. Posted on 01/18/2007 |

Dr. White is very professional. Great Bed-Side Manner.
His office staff is wonderful, especially Roxie, the nutritionist.
My surgery was handled extremely well with no complications. They checked on me frequently and let me know I could call them at any time if I needed them.
I have my first post-op visit tomorrow which is 6 days post-surgery.
I am very happy and would rate Dr. White and his team as excellent both in surgery skill and bedside manner. Posted on 09/12/2005 |
