We in the Amarillo area are sad that we have lost our only Bariatric Surgeon Dr. Ralph Crum. Thanks to him and Northwest Texas Hospital we now have a Bariatric Surgeon who will take over for Dr. Crum at “New Life Bariatric, PA” 1911 Port Lane Amarillo, TX. Dr. Watson P. Roye, Jr. This is his website: http://waxahachiesurgery.com/Physician.aspx?23489. I am on his New Patients waiting list and hope he’ll accept me as his patient and I get approval for a laparoscopic RNY with Aetna! Posted on 05/28/2008 |

Dr. Roye is a very caring person. I felt at ease with him right off the bat. He has been very helpful in helping me through this procedure. His office staff has also been very caring and helpful. I just got insurance approval and have not yet had WLS. I had my surgery on July 12. Dr. Roye was great. I had no fears whatsoever. His staff was all very helpful and my whole hospital experience went very well. I would highly reccomend Dr. Roye for anyone in the Ellis Co. area looking for a good surgeon.
Dr. Roye did my revision surgery on May6,2008. My EGD showed that I had stretched my stoma and pouch. He revised the RNY to a Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy (sp.) The surgery took about four hours but all went well and I have already lost 5 pounds since surgery. As usual, Dr. Roye... [Click here for more] and his staff were all amazing!!!

I just couldn't get over the concern and the time he spent with me. He just explained everything in detail. He didn't push it off on the nurse.
I still think that he was what the good Lord had in mind for me having the surgery. The Lord closed a window and opened the gate when I found Dr. Roye. His whole staff was just great. I had all the information I needed in what to do before the surgery and the support that will be needed after the surgery. Including the Support Group that was the next day and I went met a lot of nice people.
I haven't found anything that I would like least because everything is so positive.
He knows what he is doing and he cares. He stresses aftercare and staying on your diet and the support group. He explained the risks of the surgery and made... [Click here for more] sure that I understand them. I have several medical problems and one of them is DVTs (live long) and I do understand that moving around will keep them from forming. He was for me a God send. I now know about the surgical competence (but I hear so many good things about him) or the bedside manner yet. I had my surgery Wednesday 4-16-08 and I was home that afternoon and when I saw him before surgery, he was very upbeat and when I saw him after surgery, he was still upbeat. His bedside manner was good for me. I did have an issue with my insulin and called his office but I also called my PCP and my questions were answer, by my PCP. His office didnn't call back, they were probably busy. I got it taken care of and that is what matters.

My first impressions of Dr. Roye that he was a cute man. Never hurt to have a cutie working on you. Dr. Roye is very knowledgable about all types of bariatric surgery. He makes me feel very safe and gives me a sense of well being. Dr. Royes office staff is top stuff. They push the necessary paperwork through the system and make all the necessary appointments for you. They are all extremely nice and will go out of their way to help you and make sure that you are comfortable. There is nothing that i didn't like about Dr. Roye. He is a very careing man. Dr. Roye askes that you return for a office visit one week after your surgery. Talks to you about your aches and pains and fluid, protein intake. And offers any advise that you need if you have a problem with anything. I highly... [Click here for more] recommend Dr. Roye for any type of surgery that you might need!

Dr. Roye is very personable and concerned about the total well-being of his patients. The office staff is also very helpful and supportive. What I like most was the fact that Dr. Roye does not do the surgies as a mass assembly line production. He only schedules a few surgeries a month and keeps a close watch on his patients both pre and post op. Sometimes the wait in the outer office is long, so bring something to entertain yourself. But knowing you're getting optimal care outweighs the waiting. Posted on 07/08/2006 |

Dr. Watson Roye is a very caring physcian, takes the time to listen to you and answers all your questions and makes sure you understand all the risks. His staff are so sweet and helpful. I didn't have a problem at all getting approval, they did everything for me and I got approval the first time I applied. Posted on 08/27/2004 |

The first time that I met with Dr. Roye, I was pleased. He is very friendly, easy to talk to, and down to earth. His office staff is easy to work with, they are aware of what each insurance company is requiring for approvals and they are very good about keeping you up to date on the progress of your request for approval. He does emphasize that aftercare will be necessary for the rest of your life. He will address all risks that this surgery can include. I haven't had my surgery yet, but I have witnessed his bedside manner and surgical competence through watching my sister in-law go through this surgery with Doctor Roye, and I thought, that both was great. He is very informative and has a great staff. They are very helpful in getting insurance approval. He has a dietician and an after care program. Sends lots of info to you and sends more home with you before the surgery. He went over risks and benefits both. Posted on 12/03/2003 |
