I really really thought Dr.Bertucci was a wonderful surgeon!! I'm so glad I chose to have this procedure at the Balboa Naval hospital in San Diego,CA. He did a great job with my surgery. I wasn't in any sever pain after being sent to the recovery room. It was a little discomfort which they gave me Morphine for. He told me everything I needed to know about the surgery..asked if i had any questions about the surgery(which any doctor should). He just did everything so professional that if i needed to have another surgery, I would most definitely go to that hospital. He is a great bariatric surgeon. I'd recommend him to anyone planning on getting gastric. I got the vertical sleeve done. The office staff was greatas well.
Thank You so much Dr.Bertucci!!! Posted on 09/02/2008 |

Dr. Bertucci is professional, competent, and approachable. He was thorough and honest about the risks and benefits. He didn't seem to be in a hurry to leave the room and answered all of my questions patiently and professionally. I would highly recommend him for future patients. The only thing I didnt like about the clinic I went to was the difficulty in talking to a nurse if there were issues. I called because of continued pain issues 4 days after my surgery and NEVER received a return phone call from the staff. However, when I called back after working hours and spoke to a corpsman I received a call back from a member of my surgical team within 15 minutes. Issues was resolved. Posted on 07/28/2008 |

The first time I met Dr. Bertucci, he was nice and dedicated to what he does. He was detailed about the information he was explaining to me. He was very serious about the risk of the surgery but didn't come off scary. He answered all of my questions and was very patient. Dr. B. was very serioualso detailed about the post-op care that I would received and need after surgery. I would recommend him to anyone seeking to have bariatric surgery and wanting to change their health and their lives for the better. Posted on 06/06/2008 |

Dr. B is very down to earth and nice, but also straight forward. He was very positive that he could help me and with the exception of the bariatric nurse cordinator everyone at Balboa was very nice and treat me respectfully. Posted on 05/21/2008 |

My first impression of Dr. Bertucci was that he had a real passion for surgery. He was very matter of fact about the committment it would take for me to be successful. The most profound thing that Dr. Bertucci told me was that I had to put myself first, which included my children and my husband being secondary to taking care of myself post op. I wasn't ready to accept this, but realized that he was right. I was able to put this in prospective when I realized that it would not be neglecting my family just because I made a priority to schedule in my exericise and plan for my own health. Dr. Bertucci's statement also got me thinking about my job as a social worker with child protective services, and how stressful and demanding the job is, and whether or not it was worth continuing... [Click here for more] in this line of work as it is not conducive with me "putting myself first."
Dr. Bertucci is a surgeon at Balboa Naval Medical Center. I am completely satisfied with the healthcare that I have recieved at this military hospital. The staff is well informed and access to them is good. I received visits from Dr. Bertucci on a regular basis when I was hospitalized for two days. His bedside manner was good and he seemed geniunely concerned about pain control and your overall comfort. There were sooo many nurses, anestheslogists, doctors, etc, that attended to my care that I felt well cared for after surgery.

Dr Bertucci is a Navy M.D. and he's great. He did a fellowship in laprascopic surgery at UCLA and I have 100% confidence in him.
He's been very good at answering my questions. He includes my husband in the visits and has a very good manner in patient care.
He expects his patients to adhere to the program and truly cares about our success. If you aren't, he'll let you know about it. You get the feeling from him that you aren't just another patient and that's great! Posted on 01/14/2007 |
