GREAT young Dr. that is a pleaseure to talk to and he kept it real at all times. I appreciated the fact that he didn't sugar coat anything when speaking with me. I've only met him once so far, but first impression are what matters the most. The office staff is very pleasant and helpful. If you are considering Dr. Johnson and his staff know that they are very detailed oriented and will make sure all the I's are dotted and the T's are crossed before submitting to your insurance. The y stress that you attend support group meetings before and after surgery.
Will update later about his surgical competence & bedside manner. Posted on 06/25/2008 |

He is extremely nice and professional. He gave me a thorough explanation of all of the facts about the surgery and expected outcomes, regarding risks, signs of post-op complications and expected behavioral changes needed to meet my goals. Atlanta Bariatrics has a very well structured pre-op and post-op program, including Nutrition guidance. The surgical Nurses at Emory Johns Creek Hospital spoke very highly of Dr Johnson's surgical skills and his sympathetic manner. I think that is wonderful to find physicians with both traits. Dr. Johnson was wonderful. I will admit that I had a few concerns about the fact that he looks like he is about 18 but I couldn't have asked for a better doctor! He has a wonderful personality and seems to really care about you! I would highly recommend him to anyone! Posted on 05/12/2008 |

I went to the seminar on September 5 and was really impressed with Dr. Johnson. It took me a while to hear what he was saying because I couldn't get over how HOT he was!! It should be illegal for someone to be that good looking! :) But I really did like him and felt very confident trusting him with such a big life changing operation. He was confident but not arrogant or cocky like so many doctors are.
9/19/07 - Had my first consultation with Dr Johnson today one on one, he was amazing and very kind, very patient in answering all my questions. Looking forward to going forward with the process!
11/26/07 - My opinion of Dr. Johnson has not changed but I have to say I'm very disappointed in his office staff. They were so nice and lovely at first when I was deciding on a surgeon,... [Click here for more] and now that I have so much time and money invested they either are hopelessly understaffed or they just don't care. My file sat completed for 2 weeks and never got submitted, I finally went and picked up the file myself to fax to insurance and was treated like I was crazy for doing so. My insurance then put my case on hold to talk to Dr. Johnson to confirm a few things, and I was told today he wouldn't do that without a denial letter and a formal appeal even though my insurance said it was easier for the doctor to just call and they can reverse the decision immediately. So unfortunately even though Dr. Johnson said he thought we could definitely do this by the end of the year, looks like it won't be due to his staff being too busy to even talk to their patients.
3/17/08 - Dr. Johnson performed my surgery flawlessly, checked on me twice in the hospital, he's a great surgeon! Still not a huge fan of his office staff but I think it was worth it to have him perform the surgery.

My surgeon and his staff have been great. Ihave worked with them to get all the information that the have requested. M onl issue is that my insurance compan is not in the denial business nd so there are a few requirements that I'm having to get not because MY insurance company wants it but because all other insurances want it. BUt they are SO great and wouldn't pick another surgeon. Posted on 02/16/2008 |

My first impression of Dr. Johnson was that he is compassionate and very professional and pleasant. His office staff is always kind and helpful.
Dr. Johnson and the entire staff at Atlanta Bariatrics strongly stress aftercare. The aftercare program is structured and regular.
The practice has a monthly educational seminar where all advantages and risks of WLS are discussed.
Dr. Johnson took excellent care of me and I give him my highest recommendation. Posted on 02/06/2008 |

My first impression of my surgeon was WOW although he appears to be young he really knows what he is talking about. By no means has my impression change about the Doctor and his office staff are a perfect reflection of him and the other Dr. that practice together. They are on top of things and I never once did I feel like my case was not given enough attention. They are simple wonderful and very sweet people. If you want to have a good experience you need to contact the office of Dr. Johnson. First I recommend going to the Seminar so you can get to know them a bit better, the Dr. and Staff are friendly and are ready to answer questions during and especially after the seminar. I know you can go to many Dr. (I know I went to several) but you will quite possibly not find the same treatment... [Click here for more] any where else. They do offer and emphasize of aftercare, they strongly suggest you go to the group support meetings held once a month so you can stay on track and you can see the Dietician so she can provided you with the guidelines needed to be successful after the surgery. If I had to rate between 1 -10, 1 being least favorable and 10 excellent, I would give them all a 20 hands down. They are GREAT, all in all.

Dr. Johnson should be named "super surgeon." He is awesome. He knows exactly what he is doing and is very skilled. He has the total package, surgical competence and bedside manner plus he is cute. He is in practice with Dr. Christopher Hart at Atlanta Bariatrics. Both are super surgeons. His office is so supportive. This practice is a wonderful place. They take care of their patients through the entire process. Mildred's favortie saying is "I always tell WLS patients that they need to train for a marathon, not a sprint" but she will hold your hand the entire time. The only problem I had was they are so busy!!!Because there are a lot of patients, sometimes my chart did not get reviewed as fast as I wanted!! Posted on 06/19/2007 |
